Title: As the Stomach Churns Post by Gator on Feb 4th, 2005, 5:33am We check in with our hero at 4 friggin 30 in the damned morning to find him still awake and sporting several puke stains on his shirt. It appears his wife is sick and tossing her cookies. [smiley=hurl.gif] As if that weren't bad enough, little Sahara, his grand daughter, is spending the night and is also doing the old technicolor yawn. [smiley=hurl.gif] Gator, having finally gotten them both to sleep, now finds that he cannot sleep. [as if there were anything unusual about that - friggin insomnia] We leave our tired, but wide awake hero as he sits at the computer catching up on the happenings at his favorite website www.clusterheadaches.com. http://headachesupportgroups.com/echat45/putersmilie.gif Stay tuned for our next episode when Gator will ask the question: How much wood WOULD a woodchuck chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood? [smiley=huh.gif] Kill me. Kill me now! http://headachesupportgroups.com/echat45/help.gif |

Title: Re: As the Stomach Churns Post by taraann on Feb 4th, 2005, 10:52am Ok now THAT was funny Don. Hey Mike, In our younger, crazier years, after a long night of partying, including many many hot damn shots. Sam and I went to sleep on my friends floor with one cheesy blanket. After hogging the blanket from Sam, his feet were freezing (poor guy ;) ) So I helped him out, he awoke to me puking on his feet. Warmed his feet up real fast! [smiley=hurl.gif] YUCK Hope your wife and granddaughter have only a 24 hr bug! |

ROFLMAO!!! Thanks, I needed that. Where do I send the bill for the new keyboard? "Strawberry Breeze" juice through the nose burns just a tad. Maybe it will keep the clusters at bey for an hour or so. Still haven't slept yet. The wife is asleep and I just put the little princess down for her afternoon nap. I think I'll try to get a few minutes rest before round three. Note to self: Keep an eye on Tara at DalCon and wear washable shoes. |

Title: Re: As the Stomach Churns Post by Gator on Feb 5th, 2005, 3:15am Well as I enter Day 5 of this interminable bout of insomnia, I am sorry to report that Strawberry Breeze has no preventative effect on CH. The two in my charge are slowly recovering from their bug or whatever and I have gone 24 hours without cleaning up or wearing puke as a part of my attire. How long can a person go without sleep before going insane? Don't bother staying tuned. I was crazy going into this. |

I can only imagine what kind of monster I'll be if this beast returns......Shudder. Oops. We are talking about you....... Here's hoping you can give sleep a chance. Charlie |

Title: Re: As the Stomach Churns Post by Margi on Feb 6th, 2005, 1:55pm Hey, Mike - have you ever tried Dramamine or Benadryl? Both cause sleep as a side effect and don't let you get into REM sleep, which is when your seratonin levels drop (which is why you get hit) ... My Mike swears by Gravol (same as Dramamine in the states) - it will get him through the night when nothing else can. Worth a shot. Hope your girls are feeling better. |

Title: Re: As the Stomach Churns Post by Gator on Feb 6th, 2005, 6:39pm I finally crashed on Saturday morning about 5:30. Unfortunately, little Sahara was still feeling sick and was standing outside the bedroom door crying PAWpaw, PAWpaw, PAWpaw. She would not be held or comforted by anyone else, thus after a sweet 4 hours my nap ended. Despite my best efforts at keeping her hydrated, she ended up in the ER with a 102 degree fever and dehydration Saturday night. She's doing better now. Jane is still sick & going at both ends as it were. I don't usually get sick, but I think the lack of sleep compromised my immune system, so now Jane and I are taking turns in the bathroom. As if that weren't bad enough, Zack, my 16 y/o is now sick. He was performing the role of Honza in his high school's production of "I Never Saw Another Butterfly," a play about the Holocaust. Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights went fantastic. Today during the last performance, he threw up on stage. The play was stopped to clean up the mess, and as they say, "The show must go on." He's a trooper. A very sick trooper. So now between bouts of the jolly trots and praying to the porcelain god, I am STILL caring for sick people. I just hope John, my 18y/o don't get sick. He rarely does, but when he does - O M G!!! Lucky for him and me, he's working two jobs, going to church and hanging with friends most of the time. Maybe. Just maybe. |
