Title: Re: POTD 2-1-05 Post by notseinfeld on Feb 1st, 2005, 2:14pm The photographer is the wife of my favorite author in the world, Graham Hancock. They investigate structures from the pyramids at Giza to the Nazca Valley to Angkor Wat. Great reading if you're interested in who lived here before us ;) thanks melissa |

Title: Re: POTD 2-1-05 Post by notseinfeld on Feb 1st, 2005, 3:38pm Unbelievable---He's my favorite author b/c he wrote my favorite book: Fingerprints of the Gods! Might I also recommend Message of the Sphinx and steer clear of The Sign and the Seal. Hamlet's Mill is a hit or miss iffn' you need more reading. Impressive endeavor young lady. I'm stoked. :D |

Title: Re: POTD 2-1-05 Post by Melissa on Feb 1st, 2005, 9:07pm I have not purchased "The Sign and the Seal" due to not caring for the description. It didn't look like something I'd enjoy. I have though ordered more books (only along a different/distant line): "Holy Blood, Holy Grail" by Michael Baigent & "The Gnostic Gospels: A Startling Account of the Meaning of Jesus and the Origin of Christianity Based on Gnostic Gospels and Other Secret Texts" by Elaine Pagels. I got interested in the subject moreso after reading "The DaVinci Code". :) I am going to turn into a bookworm again! I haven't been this interested in books since I was a young girl. I used to read 350 pages in one nights sitting. I wouldn't get to bed till 3am, but I didn't care! F.O.G. is a hard read being 505 pages, but I'm on 100, so only 405 more to go! LOL :)mel BTW, Graham is feverishly working on a new book that is on schedule. I believe it will be done by May. After that, he'll be back on his message boards. Do you have the web addy? If you don't, here is the link for the MB, you'll need to register: http://www.grahamhancock.com/message_board.htm |

Title: Re: POTD 2-1-05 Post by notseinfeld on Feb 2nd, 2005, 12:11pm Thanks Mel--I visit that site just to keep abreast of his latest but have not frequented the mb there. Indeed Prints is a long read not due to the length but rather the content. Be sure to have your highlighter handy. Groundbreaking stuff for sure. (hey, I've got the Jesus book on order as well) Boy, will we have a lot to discuss! |

Yes, that is right. It has taken me 5 days to get to where I am right now. I can usually zip through a book, but when I want to absorb and understand the writing, it'll take me awhile just to get through 2 pages! That's cool about the other book, quite a coincidence. Later on, if you want to chat about the books, you can email me at mfiltz@isp.com or I have Yahoo IM, my name on there is melissakay1974. cheers! :)mel |
