Do you mean what I listen to by choice, or what's blasting through the house?   ;)

Good one, Lizzie.

I have a wife that listens to Cher, Shania Twain, Britney, Mariah Carey and Celene Dion at 10 decibles above the pain threshold; a 15 y/o who's hooked on classical and a 17 y/o techno-hick that listens to country, rock (or what passes for rock these days), christian and hip hop.

Right now I'm listening to Dr John - N'awlinz Dis Dat or D'udda...getting in the Mardi Gras frame of mind.
Probably be letting the good times roll later this week mixing Hurricanes and checking out some Zydeco stuff ;;D

recently got a Bob Dylan box set, greatest hits 1,2,3 and still playing that. Haven't heard some of those songs in ages.

the new U2, Velvet Revolver and Maroon 5 are still getting some playing time.

Just borrowed and burned a bunch of Cake so I'm also checking that out.

But I have been listening to predominantly country lately: Martina McBride (Greatest Hits), Trisha Yearwood (Songbook & Inside Out), Brooks & Dunn (Steers & Stripes).

I have been listening to Anastacia (Anastacia) and School Of Rock Soundtrack, too.  :)

Best wishes & PFdays,

As far as those hoochie girls go...at least Christina Aguilera can sing. She's really very talented. I wish someone would advise her to get less "hoochie" and really concentrate on her abilities.

Otherwise...pretty eclectic. Classical, jazz, blues, reggae, old rock, some newer rock, folk, and even ...pop (gasp). :o

PLEASE tell me this is a joke!  [smiley=JAW_DROP.gif]

I have a very eclectic taste in music as well, Langa.  My collection includes everything from Abba to Zappa.  Classical, country & western (where they actually sang about cowboys, horses and such), the new so-called country, heavy metal, soft rock, jazz, salsa, reggea, some hip hop, pop, disco, new age, grunge, bubble gum rock, Jurrasic Rock (50's stuff), just about everything.

Eclectic...yeah, that's a better word for my tastes in music.  LOL.  Glad I'm not the only one.  But it's bad that I don't know who that Lemon guy is right?  I've never been able to get into country or heavy metal.

ACK!  I think you are screwing with my head, but just in case you are not:

John Lennon, Paul Mc Cartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr = The Beatles.

John Lennon: assasinated by Mark David Chapman on December 8, 1980.

Glad to share music, and hope you guys like the Radiohead and NIN. I'll definitely have to check out the UNKLE.

After I get done with this evenings "Dark Side of the Wizard of Oz" I plan on watching The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and then mellowing out to The Moody Blues- Days of Future Passed.

BTW - The new U2 disc is probably their best since '87s "The Joshua Tree."

Happy Trails Y'all,

P.S. - Rock, if you dig the OK Computer, check out their last disc, Hail To The Thief. Another incredible album from the Radioheads.

Maroon 5 - I like that whole album.

I love music.  I like all kinds of music.

And I go thru spurts.    Right now, I've been listening to a lot of mushy love songs... new and old...     Tempatations, Odis Redding, Ray Charles, Marvin Gaye, Luther... Anita Baker, Al Green, Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross...etc.    A lot of good stuff ..........Motown

Before this spurt - it was NIN  exclusively for about a week.

Before that it was SnoopDogg and Ludacris and Chingy.....(they CRACK ME UP!)

Before that it was a lot of Enigma and Enya

Before that - it was an UGLY two weeks of country "you done me wrong" songs.........

If you EVER hear me listening to country music for more than 3 songs.... INTERVENE... IMMEDIATELY.
NO good can come from it.

peace ya'll

Bruuuuuce, as in Bruuuuuce Hornsby. "Halcyon Days" is the best album no one's heard of in 2004.

If you don't know Bruuuuuce, get "Spirit Trail" and the live set, "Here Come the Noisemakers" and for variety, "Big Swing Face."

Trust me. Bruuuuuce is the among the best performer/songwriters around. Even better than that other Bruuuuuuce, I think (tho I like him too).

Thank you PD! Gonna print this out to show the jerks who told me to 'hang up the mic' a long time ago.  ;;D
Actually I think my vocals are my weak spot, whereas guitar is my main gig. As far as 'the band' - I did everything on the Former discs - drums, guitar, bass, screams and sound effects.
BTW - on that disc, the song "Within" was written and recorded in just under 3 hours, and was inspired by the beast and the lack of understanding that comes from it. That is one of my faves. I'm itching and dying to start recording the next Former disc, "Scars And Stripes Forever." I just have to get the gear to do it.

I just got tuned into two new bands. UNKLE (Thanks Pegase) and another band called Kasabian - which is a bit psychedelic and very cool. Right now I am jamming on an 80's classic - Infectious Grooves - The Plague That Makes Your Booty Move... Good wake-up music.

NIN will always be my second fave. Trent Reznor is a musical GOD!  My all time fave band however will always be The Beatles. Their genius still shines and inspires 40+ years later.

CD Phroek

Dunno, I hear it about 5 times a day on the radio.  Do an internet seach of the song and you will find sites that have all the lyrics to your favorite hood jams.  ;;D

Now I'm going to have to find some Yngvie to listen to. It should get me in the right zone for the Bach stuff.

Might I suggest Savatage "Gutter Ballet" album, much more feeling in the music, but still has that great classical feel to it.

I just put it on my list of things to listen to along with Eric Johnson, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, and one of my all time faves, EVH.

The Trans-Siberian Orchestra was started by the original members of Savatage.

No, Traci Lords is an industrial/techno band named after the blonde and bouncy Ms. Lords.

I'm certain her book was interesting... But, although I usually say the book is always better than the movie, I'll have to assume the movies are much better than the book!

If you've seen the movie "Blade", you've both heard Traci Lords (the band) and seen Traci Lords (the porn star). In the opening bit, Ms. Lords was the vampire who takes the young man to the rave where they are playing a Traci Lords song, "Confusion". Wonderful!

Did I mention she was bouncy?

No Langa they are suppose to be real, she was like 15 when she started doing porno and the industry didn't know and then one day (about 3 years) later all hell broke loose cause the cops found out she was under age when all these movies were already in video stores across the country. They had to pull ALL of them (poor guys) lol!!!

Told you I read the book ;;D

I just love music...
My brothers all played in bands... Came in second in the Battle of the Bands against the Carpenters, when I was a very little little girl...My dad managed the band.  They played at dances and I had the coolest family... imagine  falling asleep to the tune of Credence Clearwater... Otis Reading, Beatles and Stones.  One of my brothers still jams.
I hung out in the 80's too...
I still have that ALBUMMMMMMMMMM John D.  (The journey one...)  How bout some Jefferson Starship... Quarterflash... I used to love to sing her songs in my car full blast... Almost named Breezy Riannon after that song by Stevie Nicks......... thought about callin her Stevie too but Daves Bad INFLUENCE FRIEND IS STEVIE...........oop off on a tangent... Boston Clubs: Spit, The Channel, The Paradise, The Rat,
Bunrattys, The Metro... I hung out at Spit mostly... during my hair school days... and the punkiest people hung around there......... they all dressed Gothic and let's just say I was always the girl in White...

anyway I love all music... Aerosmith, Train, Matchbox 20, Evanescence,Bryan Adams, John Mayer, Richard Marx, some easy listening... Then I have my heavy metal rememberences...Poison~~~Judas Priest~~ I once dated the guitar player in Spread Eagle a NY band that could wail... that was before Dave... we went to see them once and he said to me "Shame on YOU!!!" bet you all didnt know that side of me... I met Peter Wolf, Steve Perry... though I'm sure they aren't walking around saying I met "Ree"... thank God I had fun in those days... because Im such a SAINT NOW... BUT YOU KNOW THAT LOL............
Sean always gets pissed off because he will put a CD into the player and try and shock me with its alternative style... then I burn it and have my own copy... Some times when he sees that I know the music he takes it out like it isn't cool if your mom knows it LOL...

Well thanks for taking me down memory lane... I just love music all music......... Songs take me back to where I was when they came out~~~ love ree

Traci Lords has 107 porno films to her credit -  only one after her 18th birthday! That movie, the only one that is considered legal, is "Traci I Love You".

She has been in quite a lot of non-porn stuff, like TV roles on Wiseguy, Married... With Children, MacGyver, Melrose Place, Roseanne, Nash Bridges and in movies like Not Of This Earth (her first mainstream movie), Fast Food, Cry-Baby,  A Time To Die, Raw Nerve and Laser Moon, The Tommyknockers, Serial Mom, Virtuosity, and Blade (she was also in the sequel).
