Deleting the profile also deletes P.M.s. ::) No names mentioned but, I know some people have deleted profiles in the past because they wanted to keep private stuff private. Home life can be really bizarre some times. I just hope the best for everyone. |

Title: Re: NOT being dramatic Post by SFChris on Jan 31st, 2005, 2:14pm It's a bummer when people leave, but why delete your profile? Why not just stop posting and lurk occasionally? Lot's of people play the "I'm leaving card", so others beg them to come back... they seem to need the attention. BTW - I am not saying that's what you are doing!!! You clearly have other priorities which I respect. It's just always confused me why people feel the need to delete their profiles, or make announcements that they are leaving... I hope whatever you have going on works out for you, and that you return when you can. Chris |

Title: Re: NOT being dramatic Post by nani on Jan 31st, 2005, 2:27pm Profile deleting is a personal decision. When I did that, it had nothing to do with the people here. (I didn't want all the nani come back attention.) If I were concerned about someone accessing my PMs, I'd delete again. |

why not just delete PM's then? I do that every so often just so that I don't take up space at DJ's server. The ones I want to keep, I just copy them into a word document and then delete them from here. Your profile runs a lot faster when you do maintenance like that, too. As a YaBB board administrator, I know that deleting profiles is kind of a pain for the webmaster - the member count doesn't go down when you delete, so the numbers aren't accurate when the same person has deleted and recreated themselves a few times. Each time you reincarnate yourself, you come back as an additional member. Not directed at you, Karen - I hope things work out for you, it's rough going through a divorce. Been there, got the scars to prove it. |
