Ice moved in here Wenesday night. We woak up to no power. Cold cold cold. We burned logs all day yesterday and we slept under lots of cover. Eveny the dogs and cats got under the cover. JD slept in his PJs and a sweat suit and a stocking cap. Today we woke up to another day of Cold and ran out of fire wood. Buddy took the baby and Deveny to a motel where they would be warm. Then he went looking for wood. He knew I won't leave my dogs, and the motel won't let dogs stay there. He called to say that two stores he went to was out. I told him no problem I had a coffee table and other wood around the house. He called back and said hope you didn't burn the funiture yet he had found six logs. He was lucky. LOL
Frank called to see if we were ok and I told him yea just cold. Buddy and I was sitting looking at the fire in the fireplace and I said I am going to go take a nerver pill so I can sleep then I am under the cover. I no more than took that pill the lights came on. It may take all night to get the house warm again but we are living again.
Buddy used his colman grill and made up coffee and eggs and grits this morning. Tonight he brought home hamburgars. When the lights came on he ran to the stove and made us some hot cakes we were both still hungery.
My hands still have very little feeling .
I am happy dancing now. My pets are happy, we don't have to pay another day motel bill, My JD will be home in the morning.
You just don't relize whats import and how thankful you are for some things till they are gone. Talk you God for not letting me frezzee another night. Oh I don't like ice storms ! I Love electric :-)
I am going to go get warm by the fire till the heater cathes up and gets this house warm.

Suggle up Elaine.

I was in Atlanta during what they laughingly called a blizzard. I know how hard it is on them. They don't know how to drive on ice and snow.

I hope you still have some furniture left.

I wish we lived close enough to let you borrow our generator! :) We bought it the during the ice storm of '98. Being cold is no fun.

Glad you are getting all toasty warm now. Hug your family and pets to warm up even faster!

Getting warm by the fire... sounds nice! :)

It has been cold here, too. Luckily, today, the wheather became warmer, +2. Nice change!

Heaven in an ice cube? Good grief, Elaine!!!
Please stay warm,find some more firewood when ya can, and stockpile!
come to think of it, we have several trees that were downed in OUR ice storm. Tell Buddy to hop on up here and load the truck-I'll give him a hot meal, and send him back with firewood, ok?

Tarran that song was what I was thinking when I picked the title for this LOL. Good song.

Cathy I figure you can do one of two things when there is something going on you can not control. Thats Cry or laugh. If I cry I get a headache and I hate ALL headaches. If I laugh life seems better not only for me but others around me.

It was so damn cold here, if I could still have Babies we would be having one in nine months LOL Buddy enjoyed the weather ;-)
