Title: CH & messy flatmates Post by sandie99 on Jan 30th, 2005, 5:59am You know those CH attacks which makes you really, really irritated...? Well, I got one of those this morning. And as I went to the kitchen I share with 3 other girls, I nearly exploded! I was so MAD when I saw the state of our kitchen! There was glasses, plates, knives, forkes, old tuna cans... you name the kitchen supply and it was there... all over the place! I was like, what?! Did we get hit by a tornado last night?! Normally I would have just done my thing and let them take care their part, but now I just coundn't take the sight. So, I cleared all the plates and stuff from our table, wiped all the zillion crumbs and spend 20 minutes trying to get all the tomato sauce out of our stove. Once I was finished, one can actually see that the stove is white... ;;D And that under all those crubs and plates and tuna cans is actually a nice table with a blue tablecloth! :) I'm used to the fact that there is always huge piles of dishes to be washed at our kitchen... Not everybody washes them after they have finished their meals like I prefer to do. But leaving everything like that... That has not happened before. I'm not what you could call a cleaning freak (I've lived with one, though), but that mess really bugged me. Now when I'm calmed down al I think is that some people have a huge washing up to do - but in a clean kitchen! I mean, there are lots of things I'll do for others, but washing up their dishes... don't think so! From now on I take things easier. I'm not the "mum" in here... ;) But my flatmates are 20, 21 and 23, so they are old enough to know how to do their household chores... Okay, enough of complaining. ;;D Thanks for listening! :) Best wishes & PFdays to all, Sandie |

Title: Re: CH & messy flatmates Post by E-Double on Jan 30th, 2005, 9:50am When I used to live in the fraternity house we always expected an enormous amount of filth yet we all had certain jobs to do around the house to keep it up to cewrtain standards.....Gotta get the ladies... point being those who did not do their dishes or left a mess would just have their belongings thrown out! Didn't mind helping others out but if it ever became a habit that certain guys were always slcking.....GARBAGE..regardless of what it was!! Maybe a guy thing but it worked for those in their late teens and early 20's as your flat mates are. OR..... Don and I will come over and teach them how to behave! ;;D E. |

Title: Re: CH & messy flatmates Post by jimbo on Jan 30th, 2005, 12:37pm Sandie, do what I do when my older Son doesn't pick up after himself. I put the dirty dishes in his bed and pull the blankets back up to cover them! He got the hint REAL quick. Works like a charm. ;;D Seeya, jimbo |

Title: Re: CH & messy flatmates Post by BMoneeTheMoneeMan on Jan 30th, 2005, 12:50pm You need to dicipline those wimmins. Or I can do it if you want. I am not a clean freak, but I do like to be able to USE the kitchen if I want. If its completely piled up with crap, I cant use it, then I get upset. I dont mind if its a little dirty, but if I cant use it, thats not cool. You want I should get some baby oil and you 4 girls can wrestle it out? The winner gets to set the rules? PF wishes BMonee |

Title: Re: CH & messy flatmates Post by sandie99 on Jan 31st, 2005, 9:35am ;;D Thanks for good tips, guys! We have set turns what comes to cleaning our flat, but it seems to me that my flatmates just love making a mess and clean it only when it's their turn... :( I just might follow jimbo's advice... Since I have been the one who carries the plates from the table to the sink, I might as well carry them bit further...into their beds. ;;D I bet that would teach them quickly... ;) Hope you're all PF, Sandie |
