Just remember this...

There is good and bad in everything. It is everywhere. I try to ignore the bad things and focus on the good - garbage in, garbage out. Your poetry and Jeep's are one of those good things I look forward to. If someone else doesn't like it, they don't have to read it.

Peace bro, and glad to see you posting.

This is ladyK-9 at K-9's house saying...

If writing helps you cope then I think it's great! I did alot of writing during troubling times in my life. Sometimes when you pick up a pen the emotions just come rushing out. Sometimes they need too.
Everybody has different ways of dealing and expressing. That's what makes us individuals. I am glad that you found a way to express. I think that the individuals that don't dig the artsy fartsy stuff ( as my other half would say)  can still continue to dislike poetry and disregard the poems but be respectful of those that do enjoy it or use it to cope. This is just my opinion and you know what everybody says about those.

I was not even thinking about you man.  Anyways I said 'just', as in that would be the *only* thing on the board.

No don, post the way you want to post.  I just say let others post the way they want to post too, and then don't read it if you don't like it.

I don't know anything about DJ and his bandwidth issues, if he does have concerns that should be addressed separately.  Is that your concern?  strange you gave the impression you thought the board 'sucked' because of the poetry.

lol, I know you think the poetry sucks.  I am sure you are not alone, as a matter of fact that is kinda obvious.  I don't read it myself.  But what's wrong with another section for poetry and such?  Believe me, text is very small bandwidth-wise.

Dear DJ,

Please quit your job and work on this FREE site 24/7.

We would likje a poetry section
An art section.
A boyfriend dumped me section
An "I"M Leaving "section
A "Please come back" section.

Thank you for allowing us to use your site FREE of charge and meeting all of our demands.

Like I said, I have not idea what DJ thinks.  A 'creativity' section was all that was proposed.  But reading that, it would probably be easier to just have a 'don's preferences' section?  All the above types of posts would be excluded.   ::)

A creativity board would be nice. I have no talent, but many others, (including my little girl, mooshie)have many talents. I enjoy it when they share.
There could always be a "don sucks" board, too. That theme seems to take up as much space as poetry in the big picture.

Here is what I just copied from the front door.

Expecting nothing but technical discussions on the board? Ooops! Sorry. We are a family. We talk about everything. Some serious, some silly, some downright ridiculous. Lots of us find that laughter helps ease the emotional difficulties of dealing with a debilitating, permanent disorder that has no cure, no know cause and no truly effective treatments. But others prefer to confine their comments to serious discussions. There is plenty of room here for all. You can read every post or learn to skip over those that don't fit your wants and needs. Frequent posters, and we have many, tend to reveal much about their personalities in their posts. You are likely to find someone who you can relate to. Some of us are self-proclaimed analytical types, who tend toward serious discussions of a technical or scientific nature. Others are in the "touchy-feely" style, usually staying out of the analytical discussions but always quick to offer support, words of encouragement and a shoulder to cry on.

I guess I don't see your point Don. DJ already did an excellent job of keeping the CH stuff separate and changed the format to a daily chat section. Agree with the cost part though. Just contributed to help pay for my ramblings.

Pain Therapy through Creative Arts

http://www.wholehealthmd.com/refshelf/substances_view/1,1525,671,00.html

Quote:
Art therapy uses the creation or viewing of art to help people discover and express their feelings. Unlike art for art's sake, which focuses on the finished piece, art therapy (which typically employs paint, clay, charcoal, pastels, or other art materials) focuses on the process of creation itself. Moreover, the activity is undertaken primarily for its healing benefits rather than for the creative end result; in fact, the piece of artwork may never be shown to anyone outside the therapy session--and it is sometimes never finished.

Art therapists believe that the act of making a piece of art triggers internal activity that contributes to physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. For people who are not able or ready to create art, going to an art museum or looking through art books can also be helpful: Simply viewing art refreshes the spirit and promotes relaxation.

While people have always expressed their feelings through art, art therapy as a profession has existed only since the 1930s. Among the fields that now frequently incorporate art therapy as part of the treatment process are psychology (in which art is used to uncover hidden emotions) and physical therapy (which uses art to help build self-confidence and aid rehabilitation).

I believe poetry is also considered art.

Having said that, I feel it has much more place here than discussions of bath houses and blow up dolls.
