Title: Re: Where did ya grow up. Post by ExplodingEyeBall on Jan 28th, 2005, 8:49pm Cool BM!!! I worked in U.S. steel for 4 years. My poor car was in decent shape when I started working there and a pile of crap before i quit. I also grew up in the armpit of America. I spent my youth in between East Chicago Indiana smelling the steel mills and Whiting Indiana smelling the refineries Lever Brothers, and American Maize. People who aren't from this area just dont understand that mixture of aromas. |

Then we moved to Granite City Illinois where I have spent most of my life. I didn't have a normal childhood, and started doing drugs at a very early age (10 years old) as an escape. Title: Re: Where did ya grow up. Post by Charlie on Jan 29th, 2005, 3:51am Some say I never did but I was born in Lakewood, NY, near Jamestown, in the southwestern corner of New York State about 20 miles from Pennsylvania and 30 miles from Lake Erie. Buffalo is 70 miles north. Snow we understand. It's a pretty rural area of the State. Mom and dad had chickens and grew a lot of stuff to munch on which was a throwback to victory gardens during the war. After we ate the chickens, we had an egg man who delivered eggs door to door a couple times a week. I liked that. Such stories you people have. :'( I was so very lucky. Nothing at all like that to report. You people break my heart sometimes. Charlie |

Title: Re: Where did ya grow up. Post by Karla on Jan 30th, 2005, 7:38am Well I was born in Janesville WI like LIZ but only lived there a year. Then my Dad and Mom moved to hick town Gays Mills WI. People come from all over in the Fall because it is famouis for its apple orchards. I picked tobacco in the summer. We have the buettifull Kickapoo River that runs through our valley. It has flooded out a few towns a few times and back in the 80s the govt paid the people that lived in the flood zones to move out of it. That was most the town. So several towns in the valley got new layouts. One even became solar town. The first in the nation to independently run on solar power alone. My dad did the plummbing for that! Other wise nothing to do but go out in the corn fields and apple orchards and drink and party and have sex.. |

Title: Re: Where did ya grow up. Post by Ree on Jan 31st, 2005, 12:23am I was born and raised in Waltham Massachusetts... The 6th child and only girl to Bud and Doris whom I have to say are the most wonderful parents and are still alive and married almost 60 years. Mom lost her first two kids so they treated us like the gifts that we were and by the time they had me... they were so excited to have a girl child I was spoiled with love beyond belief. My 3 older brothers also spoiled me and still love me dearly... I've talked about my Daddy and how much he means to me seriously, I am the most fortunate girl. When my first husband beat me on Valentines Day night 1985 after I hunted him down for standing me up... My Dad who never ever laid a finger on me (cept when he caught me smokin butts at 14) had to take me to the hospital... It broke my heart ........... off on a tangent. My mom and I had a great relationship that I was always testing... I worked with her after highschool and she is still one of my best friends... Mom and Dad are 82 and 80... both ill and I know failing. Our house didn't have a gorgeous view... I always thought Love that Dirty Water was written about my backyard because litterally the Charles River in that song is in my back yard. So is a factory turned dry cleaners...its a wonder any of us are healthy. My bedroom was on a very busy street and the hum of the cars in the early AM hours would soothe me to sleep. When I moved out at the ripe old age of 17 I had discovered I couldn't sleep without noise. I am still most comfortable there. I care for the flowers at MOM and DADs house. Its the same house my dad was born and brought up in and the house is over 120 ish years old................... ok bored ya to tears........... 10 DAY LENT WARNING.............I GIVE UP INTERNET SOCIALIZING FOR LENT... THATS 40 DAYS THAT I WON'T BE HERE ITS MY SACRIFICE. IT HELPS ME TO CENTER MYSELF... LENT IS EARLY THIS YEAR... FEB 9TH.........this is ree ree OUT.......... |
