Don't know what pain is? Not sure I could hear that during an attack without trashing something or someone. I'm with Jonny - when at work and hit, HIDE! CD |

Title: Re: just finished a BADD one Post by Gator on Jan 27th, 2005, 7:35pm Sorry to hear your getting hit. Like Jonny said, run for the restroom or arrange to have a private place you can go. Do you have any kind of abortive you can use at work? Some people have a room where they can store an O2 bottle and go there during an attack. I am even sorrier to hear your wife is so uncaring about your situation. It makes it that much harder to cope when you got no support at home. A lot of women think that they have experienced to worst of pains because they have given birth and that somehow gives them the right to look down on others' pain, especially men's pain. The truth is, most of the women here who have ch and have delivered a baby would much rather go through childbirth again. Have you tried to get her on here and see what this disorder is all about? Pain free wishes for you and remember - It will always end! |

Title: Re: just finished a BADD one Post by Jeepgun on Jan 27th, 2005, 7:41pm Oh man... I am so sorry... Even worse is the fact that your wife doesn't understand, and then gets mad at you on top of it. As if the pain wasn't bad enough... Is there any chance you can get her to come over here and read the few paragraphs on the intro page? "Want to know what it's like to live with clusters?" Anyway, I wholeheartedly second Jonny's advice: When you get hit, run to a restroom or out to your car, or an empty conference room; whatever. Hang in there. I dearly hope you find some relief... My best to you, -Frank |

That's just unfuckingbelievable. HR doesn't recognize it as a problem? Print this out for HR AND your wife: http://www.ion.ucl.ac.uk/~headache/cluster.html and highlight this sentence: The pain of cluster headache is perhaps the most severe known to humans with female patients describing each attack as being worse than childbirth. Here's another jewel for them and any co-worker, family member, etc: http://www.clusterheadaches.org/Cluster%20Headache%20Syndrome.doc I hope things get better for you soon. |

Title: Re: just finished a BADD one Post by AussieBrian on Jan 27th, 2005, 10:41pm I heard the Great Goadsby once on radio: "The pain of an individual headache is roughly the equivalent of a bad labour and delivery, and these people have two or three a day for weeks and months on end." |

Title: Re: just finished a BADD one Post by Redneck on Jan 27th, 2005, 10:52pm Know about the work thing, I hide when I can, sometimes carry the 02 in the office, they don't quite understand a cluster but have trained them to leave me the fuck alone (they got to see a real bad one, scared the sh%% outta them). Sorry about the wife, thats hard to deal with I bet. Hang in there. |
