Title: Re: Renters rights? Post by john_d on Jan 27th, 2005, 4:36pm check your state laws, it will probably be online but they are at the library. There is a whole section on renter/landlord stuff, very easy to find. |

Title: Re: Renters rights? Post by don on Jan 27th, 2005, 4:52pm Put the rent inescrow and contact the town building inspector and dept of Public Health. Once you have done that the landlord can take no action (raising the rent, etc.) for one year or it is considered retaliation. |

Title: Re: Renters rights? Post by forgetfulnot on Jan 29th, 2005, 6:34pm Being a slumlord myself I would advise you to get out of the place, mold will start to grow and in some cases cause the place uninhabitable until removed. This would certainly give you the right to break any lease. Lee |
