Title: Why?
Post by AlienSpaceBabe on Jan 23rd, 2005, 6:35pm
How come one kid starts trying to kill the other as soon as you begin to pee and simply can't get up?

Why do airports have automatic seat covers but manual faucets?

How come you clam up and get nervous when you realize you really like someone?

Why is one of the usual side effects of preventatives "headaches"?

How come no one wants to hear the one joke you tell well?

Why is it never white wine that spills on a new silk blouse?

Why does spinach always get stuck in the front teeth?

How come it's so difficult to let someone in?

How come you end up stranded in Davenport, Iowa in January but never in Cancun or Tahiti?

Why do people find it so easy to believe a lie and so difficult to believe a truth?

How come bad writing costs more than great literature?

How come hate doesn't hurt?

How can fat people skinny dip?

Why do we drive our closest friends away instead of our enemies?

How come we're better at screwing up than we are at succeeding?

How come "oh, God" means so many different things?

Why, when you try to do something altruistic, does fate make you look like a hideous vulture?

Why does realization always come too late?

Why do we drive on parkways and park on driveways?

How come people compare apples and oranges rather than apples and celery?

Why is the most spoken sentence in the English language also the shortest?

Why is it always either not enough or too much?

How come you get a hangover from one glass of red wine but not from ten vodkas?

How come angst feels just like it sounds?

How can happiness and loneliness coexist?

How come the man who hits on you is always the slimiest guy in the bar?

Why doesn't anyone else ever screw up?

Why do we fuck up only when it really matters?

How many steps does a centipede have to take in order to move forward one inch?

Just some ruminations as I sit here, bored to pieces, in a dark and lonely atrium.....

ya know.... you can call the hotel TOLL-FREE....

The car broke down Friday afternoon when I was picking Charlie up from the airport. (Then the tow truck got a flat tire... and the place they towed it to doesn't work on Saabs and is closed over the weekend and won't look at the car until Monday)... A comedy of errors, don't you think?

Know what sucks? After a long, wonderful weekend of fun... being in the same hotel, the same atrium, only alone.... nothing to look forward to, like others arriving...
and far too much time on my hands... enough time to fully analyze my every fault and flaw. There are a lot, so it's going to be a very long night.  :o   ::)

Geez.... you can see right through me, can't you?  :'(

to Don: I'll call soon. Yes, I have enough to cover the car bill... unless they decide to screw me  :-/

Why is it after a really really great time, there is always something that happens to bring us back down to reality ?

Chin up Lizzie !  Hopefully there will be someone arriving that thought the whole blast started on Sunday night !

I hope they get your car up and running today so you don't have to spend another lonesome night there. I'd call if I could but since I don't have a phone, sending you hugs through the monitor.  [smiley=hug.gif]

I miss all of you so much already. *snif*

Peace & Hugs,

SO true. I've never had a CH med without that side effect...

How come you get a CH hit right in the middle of your kid's school program????

Because they know they're safe.

Equal Opportunity?

Quote:
How come you clam up and get nervous when you realize you really like someone?

Well, personally, I do that because I'm such a klutz and I usually end up saying stupid things. In lieu of this, I usually spill something on the person. [smiley=laugh.gif]

Quote:

Because you will continue to buy medication. It's like planned obsolescence, but even BETTER!

Quote:
How come no one wants to hear the one joke you tell well?

Answer a question with a question: How come, just as you're saying something particularly vulgar, the whole room goes silent? LOL

Quote:
Why is it never white wine that spills on a new silk blouse?

That's why I run around without my blouse, if I'm going to be drinkin. ;;D

Quote:
Why does spinach always get stuck in the front teeth?

Because God has a twisted sense of humor.

Quote:
How come it's so difficult to let someone in?

Because when you've been hurt again and again, the scar tissue builds up around the thresholds of the doors to your heart.

Quote:
How come you end up stranded in Davenport, Iowa in January but never in Cancun or Tahiti?

Good question.

Quote:
Why do people find it so easy to believe a lie and so difficult to believe a truth?

Because people have a real poverty of spirit and a lack of discernment, and a failure to understand that we are all interconnected.

Quote:
How come bad writing costs more than great literature?

Because people are too busy to spend much time thinking, anymore.

Quote:
How come hate doesn't hurt?

Oh, but it does. It's just that the damage and suffering aren't immediately apparent to the one bearing it.

Quote:
How can fat people skinny dip?

Fill a swimming pool full of ranch dressing...

Quote:
Why do we drive our closest friends away instead of our enemies?

Because our friends will always forgive us, and it is a wise person who keeps their enemies close. (Sun Tzu was a wise man...)

Quote:
How come we're better at screwing up than we are at succeeding?

Ask Thomas Edison. He had the right perspective on mistakes, learning from each one until he perfected his various inventions.

Quote:
How come "oh, God" means so many different things?

Because it's one of the truly versatile expressions in the English language. (along with "Beer," "Fuck," and "Shit." ) LOL

Quote:
Why, when you try to do something altruistic, does fate make you look like a hideous vulture?

Been there, done that... A thousand times over. I don't know. But I don't care.

Quote:
Why does realization always come too late?

No... It just comes prematurely for the NEXT time. ;)

Quote:
Why do we drive on parkways and park on driveways?

Because English is a bastard language evolved from gypsy tribes roaming between France & Germany, with little logic or formal structure to it at all.

Quote:
How come people compare apples and oranges rather than apples and celery?

Because you can't hurl a stalk of celery and peg someone in the azz with it?

Quote:
Why is the most spoken sentence in the English language also the shortest?

Because "SHIT!!" just works so well for a variety of situations! LOL

Quote:
Why is it always either not enough or too much?

Because the virtue of contentment has been lost.

Quote:
How come you get a hangover from one glass of red wine but not from ten vodkas?

Because wine was created by the French, therefore, it is evil.

Quote:
How come angst feels just like it sounds?

I don't know... But it is a good word!

Quote:
How can happiness and loneliness coexist?

Marriage is a wonderful example.

Quote:
How come the man who hits on you is always the slimiest guy in the bar?

Because he's the loneliest. LOL

Quote:
Why doesn't anyone else ever screw up?

They do. They just play it off, though.

Quote:
Why do we fuck up only when it really matters?

That's only when it's most noticeable.

Quote:
How many steps does a centipede have to take in order to move forward one inch?

Where's my calculator? ...

Sorry you're having such rotten luck. [smiley=hug.gif] :(
