Ok, so I lie ..... I won't ask one more time ..... I'll probably ask forever, or as long as it takes.

It's been a long hard road with my husband who was diagnosed with HepC almost 3 years ago. He's done 3 treatment programs since this all started. The last treatment program landed him in the hospital with a blood born staff infection and a WBC of 1.0 He almost died from that round of treatment. He's given it his all.

Last week we were told he is now starting liver failure. He's still not on the liver transplant list, but believe me ... when he is I will post that as well. He's just swelling up like a budda (from the ascites). The docs have him on some new meds to drain the fluid from his body which are working really well. He's lost 18 pounds in the last 6 days. Wowza Wowza .... there is my stud man. :-) He'll stay on the meds to prevent the fluid build up again. He's also getting nose bleeds which isn't a good sign.

He's only 48 ...... he got lots of years left that he is supposed to spend with me. We've been married 25 years, so I won't complain if God takes him from me, but I'll be dipped if I don't go out trying to make it 50 !

Most of you know that we are trying to keep 2 boys here as well. They aren't related, but needed help. My husband, no matter what has happened over the last month or so, is adamant that we not return them to the drug infested family they came from. We have won round one, the pre-trial. We didn't have to say a word in the judges chambers: we just let the mother, grandmother, and sister testify. They hung themselves. I won't even repeat the stuff their family said, but suffice it to say, they were totally out of line in a court. We go to court again on the 26th for the final verdict. We're not too worried about that, we just wish it was over and pray the decision is in the best interest of the boys.

The boys deserve a chance, and so does my husband. Your prayers could make a difference. Please pray for us.

And yes, I will probably ask again ........ but then again ..... what is family for ?

I am very happy to hear you are having success with keeping the boys, I hope that continues to go well.

Thanks guys, if I am mia for a little bit, don't worry. We just have a very busy schedule coming up. Water aroebics to try and get him a little more "built up" in case of surgery, phych appointments to try and keep the attitude in line, and doc appointments out the ying yang to try and monitor him closely. I'm used to all the appointments at this point, but feel the need to spend more time with the boys as well.

Nan, it was SO good talking with you tonight (wait, last night. I still have not been to bed yet!)

I know how you have had to deal with Red, Christopher, your family, and KIDS!!! You are one strong ass wench!!!

As I told you on the phone, the man upstairs won't give you any more than you can handle! I will try to talk to him and tell him you are strong, but does he need to keep pushing the upper limits?? I will try to get the Big Guy to give you some time off for good behavior. (Oh, wait, since I have know you, when have you ever been in "good behavior" mode??) Well, at least he can give you some time off, just fer the heck of it!!! Heehee ...

Luv ya, Nan, and would you and Red just learn to "get along"? heehee ...

BTW, in all our ramblings on the phone, I never asked how the house repairs are going ... Or should I just drop that topic?? Haha!!!

Anyway, darling, you got my prayers, vibes, good ju-ju, and anything else I can think of!

Just remember, I am a good person to cry on my shoulder if you need it, or someone to smack you up the side of the head, if you need that, too! I look forward to our next phone chat. (BTW, can a 1 to 2 hour phone conversation be called a "chat"?)

Give Red a hug and kiss, smack the kids, and continue playing the games that "those that hold all the rules" can throw at you. You WILL make it though this!!
