Only since you're from the Great White North. Them RedneckTM Snow Blowers are a tad different than the Yankee brand. Maybe it's a quality vs quan-titty kind of thing. What would I know. Damned Rednecks, RJ |

Those trees in the background are pine trees, also know as evegreens. Not all the trees in the southern US get nekkid in the winter. Jim |

Title: Re: Picture for Wednesday Post by vig on Jan 20th, 2005, 8:26am delayed by snow... Work doesn't open until 10... From Wikipedia: Deciduous plants, principally trees and shrubs, are those that lose their foliage for part of the year. In most cases, the foliage loss coincides with the incidence of winter in temperate or polar climates, but some plants lose their leaves during dry seasons in arid climates. Non-deciduous plants are known as evergreens. So down here in addition to the Pines, are Magnolia, American Holly, Rhododendron, Cypress... and they don't lose their leaves. |

Title: Re: Picture for Wednesday Post by Lizzie2 on Jan 20th, 2005, 5:04pm Nice pic! ;) I'm actually loving living in Philly this year. We had our first real snow yesterday. It was so much fun!!! At Penn State, it would have snowed about 100 times by now, and I would be cursing anyone and everyone because I'd have to dig out my car daily! They'd plow our cars so that the snow went up over the trunk. grrr... However, I just took a walk outside here! It was quite nice...even though it is freezing out. It's still not as cold as Penn State! :) I miss having to walk to class, etc. Everything is right across the street now which is convenient, but leaves little room for exercise...and walking the streets of Philadelphia isn't always *safe*!! Fixing for a big storm on Saturday to Sunday, which should be fun because I have to be at my first day of psychiatric rotation on Sunday morning. Woohoo!!! Carrie :) |
