Title: Re: Somthing's gunna have to die... Post by Jeepgun on Jan 19th, 2005, 12:50pm Dude... It's 100% mental, at this point. Stay strong. Each crave that comes, use that as your cue to remind yourself how good it feels to be a non-smoker. Congratulations on freeing yourself from slavery! |

Title: Re: Somthing's gunna have to die... Post by Lizzie2 on Jan 19th, 2005, 12:52pm If you want something to do...come clean my room for me. Seriously. That'll keep you occupied for about a month. That's what I should be doing...but I'm still in mega rest mode since coming home from the hospital...haven't even unpacked all my shit yet from moving back to Philly from home. :) |

Title: Re: Somthing's gunna have to die... Post by Charlie on Jan 19th, 2005, 12:59pm Nice going. In a few more days it will lighten up a bit. How about finding an old jacket or something you wore when puffing away? Take a sniff. All your unwashed clothes smell or smelled that way. It may do the trick. It did for me. After that, sit back and read a book with a sticky and yellow dust jacket. Mine were awful. Charlie |

There is a lot of good info and suggestions on Freedom From Smoking Online. It can be found on the American Lung Assoc. site. Keep it up! |

Title: Re: Somthing's gunna have to die... Post by high_commander on Jan 19th, 2005, 6:57pm My mom has smoked for the last 41 years, wound up in hospital with double pneumonia, eight weeks ago, damn near died...she was told this time she'd better give them up. Apparently she's still off them, haven't talked to her in eight weeks...she's cranky.... ;;D (a few limited phone calls, and a few hours at christmas) Glad to hear your giving it a try...good luck !! Title: Re: Somthing's gunna have to die... Post by BMoneeTheMoneeMan on Jan 19th, 2005, 9:24pm Hey, man, thats really great that you havent smoked in a week. Zyban and Wellbutrin (same thing, different name) really help to calm you from the nic withdrawl rage. Only problem is that when you take wellbutrin, it dampens the effect of any other drug you are taking. but it helps GOOD FOR YOU BMonee |

Title: Re: Somthing's gunna have to die... Post by MOMO3 on Jan 19th, 2005, 9:32pm That is great you haven't had a cig in a week. My brother quit 3 weeks ago, and I'm really proud of him, he'd been trying for a while. I know people say it is one of the hardest habits to quit. Good for you!!! |

Title: Re: Somthing's gunna have to die... Post by nani on Jan 19th, 2005, 9:44pm Stick with it Dan...it's so worth it. (not that I know from experience, I'm afraid). You're going to feel and smell sooo much better. ;;D If you have to: get some Milano cookies and some semi sweet chocolate chips. Melt the choc chips and dip the cookies in. Let choc harden and let them melt in your mouth. I like cookies, too. ;) |
