I have not posted in a while for two reasons.  One, I am away on a business trip, and dealing with my head, which has not been fun, away from home.  The second reason is a bit more disturbing: I received two different email messages from "family" members stating that my comments are not appreciated or needed on this web site. One also stated that it is an abomination that OUCH has people like me on the BoD.  I have to admit, those comments hurt.  But, I have thought long and hard, and now feel, the hell with them!

I am who I am, a Clusterhead.  I belong here just as much as any other Clusterhead.  My off color comments are meant in jest and just to have fun.  I do not intend to insult or hurt anyone.   Dealing with this shit we all live with is hard for me.  I get hit so often.  Life is hard for me to deal with.  The ways I have found to deal with it, is to enjoy and joke around as much as possible during my time between hits.  Between this site and family, and my sense of humor, as off color as it may be, I can live through this hell.

As for the two who sent me those nasty-grams, if you don't like reading my posts, then DON'T!  I have never attacked you, nor made any comments to intentionally hurt you, or anyone else.

No one is going to drive me from this site.  I belong here.  This is my family.  Remember, you can chose your friends, but not your family, so you are stuck with me for better or worse.  I am very happy and proud to say, that many of this family I also call friends.  I have met many in person, and hope to meet many more.

BTW, Don, you suck.

Chuck - ignore those who are ignorant. You're a great guy and have every right to be here. Like you said, if somebody doesn't like what you have to say, they don't have to open a post from you. This is really starting to piss me off. Maybe they are just jealous of you Chuck. Maybe they just need someone to lash out against because they are so unhappy and unfulfilled with their own lives. Chuck,

As you know, some folks are givers and some are takers.

The takers are never satisfied.  Sometimes the takers are hard to spot, but once burned by one, then it becomes easier to distinquish the next.  

Time spent to send you nasty emails could have been put to good use.   Surely there are a few here who could use some support.   Certainly there are a few here in pain.   Valuable time.....wasted, because the takers are not happy.   They can complain....but they can't take the time to help out a brother or sister in pain.

Keep the "fuck 'em" attitude.    8)   It looks good on you, sweetie!     ;;D

BTW....many thanks to you for all the love and vibes and thoughts you have given me since I've been here.

As I sit here and read this post my emotions ran the full gamut of some of the darker emotions.  Anger, fear, sadness, ...and I wanted to lash out at whomever made these intentionally harmful comments to one of my dearest friends.  

I was ANGRY and wanted to know WHY and WHO and WHEN.  I even caught Chuck on messenger and insisted he tell me the names of the people who sent the PM's to him.

Chuck refused to tell me.

He said it was not important that THEY were not important .

And I am going to accept that answer.

I wanted to educate these "persons" about the human being they referred to as an "abomination" to the OUCH BoD.  I wanted to tell them about his dedication and perseverence to OUCH.  I wanted to tell them about how I watched him slip deeper and deeper into a hard hit at the BoD meeting in Nashville but REFUSING to leave any unfinished business.  I wanted to tell them about the many online BoD meetings that he ALWAYS attends and the immense participation he has with everything that is OUCH.    I wanted to tell them about the phone calls of support he has made to me, cheering me up when no one else could.  I wanted to tell them about the man who loves his family, and had you witnessed the interaction between him and his daughter Stephanie in Nashville, you would understand what I mean.

I wanted to lash out and curse the perpetrators of this heinous act of cruelyy and unkindness.  To publicly flame them for thier callousness and bigotry.  To make them feel small for their own small minded comments.  To hurt them as they must have hurt my friend.  


But I won't.


Because Chuck said it doesn't matter.  That THEY don't matter.  


So I will keep my comments to myself, hard as it may be, and lend no credibility to those, and they know who they are, who would hurt one of the best friends I have ever had.  I will lay it to rest.


He is my friend and I love him.


Now, that being said...

Chuck - I've never met you in person, but I've read your posts and Steph's posts and I'm thinkin you're a one of a kind guy.

No idea why anyone would take you on in that fashion but there are small minded people out there with way too much time on their hands.

You have lots of friends here which is more than evident from the posts being made to this thread.

I've always said, love the ones that are worthy and to hell with the rest.

I met you at NashCon, ate supper with you, and cried, watching you get hit three times in the space of less than an hour. Whomever had such poverty of consciousness and smallness of heart to send you such tripe, has to live with themselves day in and day out. I can't think of a worse fate than that.

Chuck, you just keep on doing what you're doing. There's no one I'd rather have on the BoD than you, and your humor, strength, and determination to live your life in the face of excrutiating pain... That is sick. Anyone who gives their time freely, as you do for the benefit of others, deserves thanks not flaming. I've never read anything of yours that has upset me... no where near it! I too feel a bunch of things at reading this kind of post.  I don't understand why people do stuff like that and it makes me mad and sad too***

Some people thrive on negativity - here is my advice friend:  Feel sorry for those people because they must be WAY miserable themselves deep inside  -- and for some reason the only way they can feel BIG is by belittling others.

Ya know, when I compare all the people I deal with on a daily basis, my coworkers, my friends, my family, and hold them up to the folks on this message board, I get the feeling that our affliction makes us better people.

Experiencing pure pain may ring out most of the bile in us, while others carry it proudly and dispence it freely.  

Pain has its price and those who don't grow by its cost are  missing the dividends that are exhibited by most all of you here.

Meeting Chuck for the first time at my house, was quite an experience....tasting the chili he made for our get together....in fact, i had chili for about two weeks , thanks to Chuck!  ;;D....Watching you get hit continously brought back some bad memories but made me so grateful that atleast I do get some pf times now...Hang in there, bro....I have found in life, there are always those that like to throw stones.  As I learned as a child, "sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never harm me.  ;)" Smiles,nancyc

Boy Chuck, are you lucky.  I haven't gotten ANY e-mail (except junk) in so long that hotmail closed down my account.

Anyhow, I'm glad I invited you into the Bylaws Committee, and then into the BoD........you've been a great asset and some people don't even know it.  You've worked for us for quite a while now and have done a splended job, sweetie.  Thank you.

It had to be newbies who don't know YOU yet.  Just like that guy at the top of this page.

Keep up the good work and keep the humor running.....we need it.

Thanks, everyone who responded, or sent me private messages, for your vote of confidence.  I was not looking for compliments, yet I really appreciate them.  I was just explaining why I have not been here for a while, and when I was, it was only for a few quick replies.

Some of you have bad mouthed the two who e-mailed me.  It is their right to speak their minds.  And I give them credit, they kept it private, and not here on the board.  So, yes, it hurt what was said, but they have the right to say it.  And, because they kept it private, I will keep exactly what they said, and who they are, private.
