Title: They found my car Post by Bethany1 on Jan 15th, 2005, 9:38am One week before the insurance is going to pay up for a total loss, my stolen car was found at a Star Market. Whoever took it beat the crap out of it and left the sunroof open with all the snow/rain/ice/sleet that we have gotten over the past few weeks. Whats even really wierd is the guy went on a rampage and stole other women's pocketbooks because their id's were in my car. There was also a knife [smiley=huh.gif] Yikes. Inside the car there was also a parking ticket from the night he took the car, you would think maybe the police would have called the plate in? hmmm. Anyways, we got the address of where the car was, so hopefully the police will catch this guy. What a jerk. A lesson learned I guess. Ladies, be very careful out there. This guy stole these women's pocketbooks while they were pumping gas, and one was even stolen while her husband was IN the car. :-/ |

Title: Re: They found my car Post by Jeepgun on Jan 15th, 2005, 10:21am Egad... Sorry to hear about the shape it was in, but thankful that you weren't robbed or threatened with a knife. Maybe insurance will STILL write it off as a total loss, if they damaged the interior and exterior badly enough... |

Title: Re: They found my car Post by PrettyH8Machine on Jan 15th, 2005, 12:03pm Parking ticket? ROTFLMAO! Sorry they trashed the car, but like Jeep said, at least you weren't threatened with the knife, or worse. Hopefully the insurance will still cover it as a total loss. Peace, CD |

Sure hope you don't get stuck with the parking fine. A guy I work(ed) with had his plates stolen. He reported it immediately. After 2 weeks he had go to the DMV and cancel the stolen plates and buy new plates. 2 weeks after that the plates were found on a stolen car parked at the airport. It had been there for 3 weeks. According to the airport police, since the plates were "still his" they billed him for 3 weeks of parking fees. Yes, he (finally) paid the parking fees. It was cheaper than paying a lawyer to fight it and get his stolen plates back. |

Title: Re: They found my car Post by Charlie on Jan 15th, 2005, 11:23pm Glad the insurance came through. Weird story about the car. Makes me wonder if the ticket was dated after it was left. I'm a distrustful type. Charlie |
