Title: A very special message
Post by ExplodingEyeBall on Jan 13th, 2005, 1:59pm
I don't want to look like one of those post wh0re$ or number junkies but..

I'd like to take advantage of this very special post to flame jonny (who I'm pretty sure is on his way out west and won't see this) by saying that

1) I look much better in a kilt than he does
2) I suck much less than him.
3) If I had the balls to get a tattoo, I'd look much better in them. (the tattoos)
4) My hair looked cooler than his before I cut it all off.

Now, I shouldn't forget to put this in here. ---->  ;;D

I'lll run and hide now.

Pat

Will someone please tell me?  Does it really matter how many posts you have?  Does it make you special or something?  Do you win a prize?  Do you get off on it?  What's the fucking deal here?  I've been here since 1999 and I still don't get this bullshit.

Absolutely not.
That's the point I was trying to make.
I was making fun of myself as much as anyone else who thinks a high post count is a big deal.

If I counted the times I sent private messages to help or to just be there for someone instead of posting, my number would be well over 2000.

A lot of times, I choose to send a private message either because it's personal or I just don't want to clog up an already bloated thread.

BTW: Congrats on the 1489 thing Paul.

Barbara, it is a big deal, every post you  make might be the one that changes someone elses life or possibily saves their life. Maybe us ch'ers are a little easily amused at times, but we have to have something to cheer us up. Lighten up!

It's not a matter of how many posts you have or how often.
It's what you do say when you do post.

It's about quality, not quantity.

Peace,
CD

I don't understand it, either.  There were no parties, slaps on the back or congrats when I hit 500, 1000 or even 1500.  Didn't expect or even want them, 'cause that's not why I post.  It's about quality not quantity.  And before anyone says anything, yes I have posted some meaningless crap, too, but it had nothing to do with raising my post count.

As have most of us, Pat.  I have sent a lot of private messages of info and support and even sent regular e-mail messages to a lot of people from the Guest Book, welcoming them and answering questions.

I've been holding my tongue on this subject for a long time.  I have really been avoiding posting anything about it at all, hoping the fad would pass, but it seems a lot of people are really getting bent out of shape by it.  I don't think this anything to get angry about, BarbaraG.  There's plenty enough of other stuff going around to get angry about.  It's just one of those things to that makes you let out a deep sigh and shake your head a time or two and then proceed as normal.

IMHO,

Gator

I thought this post was just meant for fun.   [smiley=huh.gif]

I know I got a good laugh from it.  I think the fun, stress-relieving posts are just as important as the serious, informational ones.

Hey, it took me forever to get to Junior, but now I'm back to being a Newbie again because I can't get into my original ID, but I usually read more than I post.

Thanks for the laugh!

Well, Jonny, of all the times I've come and gone from this site, you are one of the people I've never forgotten.

I don't care what anyone says, I love your WTF attitude.

By the way, I tried the "forgot password" routine.  It's been a while since I've been here, so I think my ID has been "deactivated", although I can still see it on the member page.

And, yes, before you say anything, I also posted to the tech help board a few days ago.
