For me, the sole reason is because if you've been misdiagnosed to have cluster headaches, you WILL be prescribed meds for cluster headaches. These meds aren't exactly placebos or sugar pills, people. Cluster meds have some very serious side effects and we HAVE heard stories here of them causing some very serious and potentially lethal results. We've also heard stories of folks who have been CH diagnosed when they've had other very serious problems going on. I remember a lady who, if she took one more shot of imitrex, she would have caused the aneurysm that hadn't been found, to have exploded. Maybe that helps to shed some light on why some of us stand at the door here on guard. |

Oldtimes/newbies, who does and who doesn't, who come who goes, it's all part of the natural evolution of things. The only thing that stays the same is change. Everything changes and evolves including the dynamics of the mix of personalities on a message board. As this disease is made more widely known by the efforts of us all and through OUCH, the dynamics are going to change as more and more people become aware of what the hell is going on inside their heads. Medicine practice will change as more and more specialists like Volcey and Goadsby find and map the subtile differences in how this disease manifests in each of us. As a newly elected officer of OUCH, this rift forming amoung the family is heartbreaking. I have more I'd like to say but I won't. Suffice it to say that new or old, we will all have something to contribute to the enlightenment and support of all who suffer. |

Margi and Jackie are supporters but they know my pain. They don't have clusters but they know my pain. I have seen post about other message boards that are good but don't move as fast as this board. This site use to be a group of clusterheads and their supporters who became friends. Now its about who can post the most post. How fast we can keep the board moving. Clusterhead with 100 post, or 1 year Clusterhead with 1000 post. Which would you believe ? I posted awhile back "what do doctors know", Years ago doctors would say only guys have CH's. Now it seems that since they realize woman also get them, that as long as you have pain in one eye, you have Clusters. I'm not saying it to flame anyone in particular, I'm saying it because I read the newbees posting everyday. More don't sound like Clusterheads than do.
