Title: Re: support... Post by Mr. Happy on Jan 12th, 2005, 1:10am sup·port (sà pôrtÆ, -p$rtÆ) 1. Pay attention to what you've learned. Then make sure and pass on the salient points. 2. Say what's needed to pass on info. Don't over do it. 3. Take what you've learned, pick yourself up by your own damned bootstraps, and get back into the game of Life. Tell somebody else how to do it. 4. Repeat as needed. I prefer technique over vibes.... RJ |

Title: Re: support... Post by Hirvimaki on Jan 12th, 2005, 8:42am Support entered English around 1382, from the Old French supporter, from the Latin supportare "convey, carry, bring up," from sub "up from under" and portare "to carry". The noun meaning "act of assistance, backing" is recorded from 1390; sense of "that which supports" is from 1570; meaning "services which enable something to fulfil its function and remain in operation" (e.g. tech support) is from 1953. Thanks for everyone's support. |
