Title: Re: True Story Post by nani on Jan 11th, 2005, 11:01am ...rats. Story goes someone bit into a piece of chicken and it tasted funny. He took it to a lab and they said it was rat meat. That one goes back to the early 70's. I only get the crispy strips...rats don't have white meat. ;;D |

Title: Re: True Story Post by Bethany1 on Jan 11th, 2005, 11:04am THIS IS FAKE:: KFC has been a part of our American traditions for many years. Many people, day in and day out, eat at KFC religiously. Do they really know what they are eating? During a recent study of KFC done at the University of New Hampshire, they found some very upsetting facts. First of all, has anybody noticed that just recently, the company has changed their name? Kentucky Fried Chicken has become KFC. Does anybody know why? We thought the real reason was because of the "FRIED" food issue. It's not. The reason why they call it KFC is because they can not use the word chicken anymore. Why? KFC does not use real chickens. They actually use genetically manipulated organisms. These so called "chickens" are kept alive by tubes inserted into their bodies to pump blood and nutrients throughout their structure. They have no beaks, no feathers, and no feet. Their bone structure is dramatically shrunk to get more meat out of them. This is great for KFC because they do not have to pay so much for their production costs. There is no more plucking of the feathers or the removal of the beaks and feet. The government has told them to change all of their menus so they do not say chicken anywhere. If you look closely you will notice this. Listen to their commercials, I guarantee you will ot see or hear the word chicken. I find this matter to be very disturbing. I hope people will start to realize this and let other people know. Please forward this message to as many people as you can. Together we make KFC start using real chicken again. But still.... [smiley=hurl.gif] |

Title: Re: True Story Post by Jimmy_B on Jan 11th, 2005, 11:14am The "real" reason ....Kentucky Fried Chicken" or "Ginos" changed their name to KFC is because the word Kentucky was copyrighted by the Kentucky Derby (I don't have a (TM) symbol...forgive me Kentucky Derby).... Although I'm sure their chickens are quite fatter & less active then free-range chickens...I'm sure they're still chickens. ;;D Well...almost sure. ;) Jimmy |

Title: Re: True Story Post by don on Jan 11th, 2005, 11:35am Even seagulls wont eat in a KFC parking lot. Afraid they might be eating a missing relative. |

Title: Re: True Story Post by ExplodingEyeBall on Jan 11th, 2005, 11:37am The KFC stories are just as true as the 'I got drunk and someone stole my liver' stories. All of these are fabricated with the sole intention of seeing how much they will be circulated as true stories. I have never changed my eating habits or any other habits after reading a far fetched story like these. They are pretty entertaining though. Maybe we should start one of our own here. That reminds me of the time I went to Pepe's Tacos for dinner. We found a bunch of hairs in our food and complained only to find that all of the employees were bald. We took some of the hairs to a FBI crime lab and had a buddy do some tests on them. He called later and told me that they were cat whiskers but not just ANY cat whiskers. These came from a rare albino/pygmy/left handed/one eyed/crack addicted/neutral gendered/Yugoslavian/alley cat. So NEVER VISIT PEPES TACOS AGAIN!!! ;;D |

Damn, Damn, & Double Damn...you're right. And I thought I never got fooled by these Urban Legends....Actually my post was tongue -n- cheek (That sounds sexual :o) I guess the (") symbol between the word "Real" was not enough to convey my joking. Damn...the written word ;;D "Kentucky Fried Chicken decided to change their name to KFC in 1991 for several reasons, none of which had anything to do with governmental regulations about mutant animals: A move to de-emphasize "chicken" because KFC planned to offer a varied menu that included other types of food. (The Boston Chicken corporation took the same approach for the same reason, changing their name of their retail food outlets to Boston Market.) A desire to eliminate the word "fried," which has negative connotations to the increasingly health-conscious consumer market. A recent trend towards the abbreviation of long commercial titles, as demonstrated by other companies' employing shortened forms of their names, such as The International House of Pancakes (IHOP) and Howard Johnson's (HoJo). Clowns are evil. I have always had a phobia for clowns. Why? Because inside, all clowns are like this: A phobia for clowns is "Coulrophobia". It comes from the Greek kolon, a limb. Yes, strange. But if you look at the related kolobathristes, a stilt-walker, it makes more sense. This is as near to a suitable classical allusion that can be reached using acient Greek, since the ancient Greeks didn't have a word for a clown in our modern sense. Ah, to be an ancient Greek and not have to worry about falling asleep and having the clowns eat my brains. Hirvimaki-Isi |
