Post by nancyc on Jan 10th, 2005, 12:24pm
until I just found out about a newly diagnosed clusterhead having a Temporal Biopsy..I was in shock...They did this and then diagnosed him with chs..What we go thru before we are diagnosed with chs can be really scary!  And all I went thru was nose surgery and having a bunch of teeth pulled....I had never heard of this being done before....damn....smiles,nancyc

Hey, he didn't need those brain cells, anyway.  Probably just another drug seeking whiner, like the ones on that CH website.  You know the one - www.clusterheadaches.com.  :o  >:(

Hmmmph.  Gonna go take an aspirin and lie down now.   :-/

Just when you thought you have heard everything.  Sheesh!

As the old saying goes, I'd rather have a bottle in front of me that a frontal lobotomy.

I think what is really scary is patients just undergoing these procedures without questioning.  They submit to anything.  Don't people ever question stuff like this?

Scary...

Not everyone is as distrusting and skeptical of the medical community as you and I and a lot of people here are.  Most people have been brought up to believe doctors are all knowing.  The patient doesn't know any better and trusts the doctors judgement.  Couple that with the intense desire to stop the pain and almost anything will sound reasonable.

I'm not saying it is right, especially in this age of instant information.  That's just the way it is.  Sad, really.

This is so true. I for one have tended just to do what I'm told and take the pills and not question it. That is just one more thing I'm grateful to this site for .. opening my eyes to being proactive in my treatment. It just hadn't occurred to me before so I guess I have gottten what I deserved!!

It's not porn its uh... uh... research.  ;;D

They infest in our heads when we are asleep and when they party, we get woke up with a CH. The only way to get rid of them is to hold open vodka under the nose while cranking up Tony Basil's "Mickey" and yelling "PARTY!"

Problem is, they have too good of a time and always come back for more.

Where did these "doctors" with barber college degrees come from? Pretty bizarre stuff.

My neurologist, who treats my seizures, knows that I actually looked into the electronic shit he was thinking of. He's been careful with me ever since I explained it to him.  Little twerp knew less than I. Especially that cyberonics basically started plugging it for seizures after the FDA turned them down for treating depression with the procedure.  The stock took a nosedive at the time. >:(

The Doc told this clusterhead that they were afraid he might have this disease that makes you go blind...I forgot the name but it is something to do with the arteries in the temporal lobe of the brain...Arterial Temporal, I think ..After he ruled this out, he diagnosed him with Clusters!..anyway, this is sad....course we dont have the best Docs here In SC... ::)nancyc

Saddam Hussein was in my head, having a  party with Il Kim Jong II. I nuked them outta' there, and I've been feeling a little better. I no longer require a nightlight or headlights, now.  8) <---The future's so bright, I gotta' wear shades!
