Title: That time of year again...
Post by brain_cramps on Jan 5th, 2005, 6:56am
Time to move!

-30C (-22F) with a wind chill of -45C (-49F) again this morning.

I could never figure out why people who moved here years ago (before electricity, heat) would stay past the first winter.  They had to be REALLY tough but not necessarily too smart!

Negril, here I come!     (I wish!  :( )

Savage o' the North,

What do you heat your cave with?  Just curious.

My builder gave me shit because I am running a big-assed stainless wood/coal chimney down to my basement.  He suggested I put in another pretty little gas fireplace instead (like the main floor one).  After laughing at him, I sent him a picture of a heat-your-whole-house butt-ugly combo-fuel burner.

Cave?    No caves up here --- just igloos.

We heat them with whale-fat.

Keep warm, Grant! Brrrrr... A couple of weeks ago, it got down to single digits (Farenheit), and it sucked. I couldn't handle living in Canada! (although I visited Toronto a few years ago, around Christmas time, and it wasn't too unbearable...)

COLD WEATHER SUCKS!!!!!!!

I want to go back to Florida!!! Wah!!!!!!! [smiley=bigcry.gif]

It's actually not bad temp wise right now. It's about 30 degrees. What sucks is the rain/sleet/freezing crap that's falling right now.

It's supposed to get real bad this afternoon with 6 - 12 inches of frozen sky-shit.

The worst part is the stupid drivers who have lived in the midwest their whole lives but still act like it's the first time they have ever seen snow when they get in their car. [smiley=mad.gif]

On top of all of that, I'm in a rare mood this morning. I guess it has something to do with only having 2 smokes since New Years Eve.

Someone should just do me in now and get it over with.

Was glad it was cold here this morning, had the vent on full blast on the right side of my face while driving to work, waiting for the zomig to work, thank God traffic was only moving about 10 mph due to the snow.

The weather here can't make up it's mind what it wants to do.  Two days ago it was 70 something.  Yesterday It got up to about 45.  Now it's 24 friggin degrees and gonna get colder as the day progresses.  Supposed to be 68 on Sunday.  WTF???

Sharing is over-rated, Grant.  Keep your cold weather to yourself.  LOL

that's funny, I'm in shorts and a t-shirt and working outside.  aaaaaaaaah.
My goal was to make it through this winter without having to wear anything with down in it...
so far so good.

(except my down underwear! [smiley=laugh.gif] with a liner. ;;D)

Yes, you moron, just becuase it's sleeting/snowing/freezing rain, you still have to stop at a RED LIGHT.   ::)  Not to mention, use your brakes BEFORE the last minute.  Then you won't slide/ crash into the car/ post/ pedestrian in front of you...

sorry, I hate it when people can't drive...

Grant,

Isn't Saskatchewan land-locked ? Where'd the whale come from? Why didn't you share ? We had to put the sealskins on last night and let the dogsled team in to keep us cosy..... ;;D ;;D

New years eve I was walking around outside without a jacket and sweating. Today, it is pouring rain, getting colder and rain will be turning to ice sometime this evening.

Been talking about leaving my comfort zone in the midwest and moving South, definitely South. I thought about Canada at one time and then came to my senses very quickly when I thought about the cold.

If all goes well, this time next year may find me around New Orleans, LA  8)

Peace,
Carl D
