Chris and Colin went to get my present the other night after Chris got off work and they were coming to pick me up from work. So Chris calls me and says I got your present and Colin has been sworn to secrecy. I say ok. I get in the car when they got here and Colin goes here is your present mommy, here it is, looooook, loooook!! I say Wow that is a little bitty box to which my wonderful child replies - That's because it's an itty bitty ring! Gotta love kids. So what I got is this.....

Hi Karen,
That is a Claddagh ring (pronounced cladda) and they originate in Galway in Ireland. The heart, crown and hands stand for love, loyalty and honour and if you wear the ring with the heart pointing away from you it means your heart is free. If you wear it with the heart pointing towards you it means your heart is taken and the crown acts as a stopper stopping the love falling out!

a claddah... i love those... i have one and i love it... don't wear it much because it came from the first hubby... but I look at it now and then...........love to you enjoy the ring and the love it brings..........ree
