Title: Re: Gifts For The Troops In Iraq Post by Jeepgun on Dec 15th, 2004, 8:59am Well, I don't have many addresses, but one of my friends is a company commander, and she'll be sure that whatever is sent is handed out to her troops: Capt. Amy Alger 1st FSSG HWSVC Bn COMM CO UIC 42095 FPO AP 96426-2095 Also, Ree posted the address for her son, I think. I can't find the thread at the moment... Ree? |

Title: Re: Gifts For The Troops In Iraq Post by Jeepgun on Dec 15th, 2004, 9:14am I found it. The request was for phone cards for the troops who are healing at Walter Reed Medical Center: From Ree's post: "The number ONE request at Walter Reed hospital is phone cards. The government doesn't pay long distance phone charges and these wounded soldiers are rationing their calls home. Really support our troops Send phone cards of any amount to: Medical Family Assistance Center Walter Reed Medical Center 6900 Georgia Avenue, NW Washington, DC 20307-5001 |

Title: Re: Gifts For The Troops In Iraq Post by nani on Dec 15th, 2004, 10:01am Would it be unpatriotic to ask why some of those pretty basic needs are not being met by the military? Socks, peanut butter, etc? These kids put their asses on the line and can't get peanut butter? Raise my taxes and get them what they want!! God bless them! |

Title: Re: Gifts For The Troops In Iraq Post by JDH on Dec 15th, 2004, 10:31am Good post Jeep. It seems to me that this is a way to actually show support for these young men and women as opposed to sticking a "support our troops" magnet on your car. Let's do it people. Jim |

Funny thing about that: Right after 9/11, the thing I craved most in the world, was Peanuts holiday specials. After returning from the first Gulf War, all I wanted to watch was comedy and really light stuff... After dealing with horror, fear, shock, and trauma, good ol' mindless, innocuous humor goes a long way. |
