When I last spoke with Dave just before Thanksgiving he was in pretty bad shape.  He'd had a few other complications, and was quite ill but he was holding his own.  His strength is minimal so he finds it difficult to get online and update everyone.  He is thinking about us all though and he will update as soon as his health allows him.  He's still very weak.

Thank you, Cat. Any indications that he's starting to turn the corner, or that some of the problems have been brought under control?

Dear Friends:
I have been following the board, even though I rarely post.  I noticed this morning that some of you are asking for information regarding Dave and I, and our “situation” as we call it.  I’m sorry that I haven’t been better at keeping you up to date, but life is just a constant circle of exhaustion most times, and finding the energy to write has just been impossible.  My life consists of work, worry, trying to sleep and eat, and maintain some semblance of sanity.   Dave’s life consists of weakness, worry, wrenching pain, continuous clusters, and watching me try to deal with it all. He will rarely answer the phone anymore, as he is in so much pain most of the time it just takes too much out of him to get to it.
Every once in a while, he finds it within himself to draw enough strength to help out will small chores like dishes, laundry and some housecleaning, and occasionally, a simple meal.
Unfortunately, his health continues to deteriorate, and we have found no answers to his mysteries.  The medications he is on have had no significant effect.  The doctors still have no answers, but continue to hope that they will somehow find them.  Emotionally, we both have waterlines reaching our bottom lip, and occasionally swallow a huge mouthful.  But we persevere somehow through each day, starting the next one with little hope of anything brighter ahead.  On Thanksgiving Day, I was thinking back to a year ago when we were so thankful to know that he did not have spinal tumors.  A year later, we are really no further ahead than that.  On the other hand, we are thankful for every day we have.  We know that whatever this is, it is all a part of God’s plan.  For us, it helps to keep us going on when at times there seems to be little to go on for.
Dave is rarely able to get online, and when he can, he has a lot of trouble reading anything, as his vision has become very poor.  It is just too exhausting for him to try and write.  I read the boards almost every day, and keep him up to date on what’s up with you all.  I find a lot of humor, hope, and strength in the daily goings on here, and even though I don’t write often, know that we are still with you in spirit.
Thank you all for checking on us, your PM’s, cards, e-mails and calls are a huge part of our support system, and we appreciate every single one of them.  We will keep hoping that things will eventually improve, and I trust that all of you will keep that hope alive too.  God Bless.
Annette

Thanks Annette for the update. Not the news we were hoping to here. I lift him up everytime he comes to mind, which is often. Give him a hug from us and still hoping for that miracle. :)
