Post by Jonny on Dec 3rd, 2004, 6:54pm
Painted steel with laser cut aluminum inserts, wood cap and handrails are not finished because the bastard carpenters went home early....BASTARDS ruined my shots.

That's really awesome Jonny.

What kind of place is it?

If I ever got rich and famous and owned my own medical practice, I think you'd be number one on my hiring list for designing this kind of stuff in my rich and famous doctor's office!  Then of course...all clusterheads could come for free.  ;)

They weren't white, American, journeymen, union members by any chance?

Ever watch a journeyman of any trade hired out of the union hall work nod off?

Thanks folks.

Its an insurance company, you cant see the floors but they are black marble (And you wonder why are rates are so high)

I once did a system for BC/BS, they did not allow cameras on the jobsite (I wonder why). I watched as $5,000 (each) 12 foot high cherry wood doors were being hung on every office.......the day before I read in the paper that BC/BS were raising their rates because they were loseing money.....HELLO!!!!!

I can tell you one thing, when I know its an insurance company I tack on 30% to the price. wanna bend me over?....I'll bend you futher you fucks!!..........I can do this cause (I forget who said it) I am the go to guy for 100 miles around ;;D

NICE!

I just got my first MIG welder 2 weeks ago - 85A.  I'm still experimenting with it and I have yet to get what I would call a clean weld.  I've been using flux wire so far.  Haven't hooked a tank to it yet.  Is plain wire and gas a better way to go or is it simply practice.  I can't seem to decide on a good heat and wire feed rate that gives me repeatable results...

Wire and gas is the only way to go if your going to MIG, from then on its just practice till you find all the settings that work for you.

99% of the welding done in my shop is TIG (Heliarc) because it delivers a more fine weld. that is a must if your going to be putting a mirror or satin finish on the product.

If it was brass, stainless steel or aluminum it would have takin a lot longer, only because those alloy's require a finish. with steel its only going to be painted so your able to cheat in certain areas of the job ;;D

Plus I dont work alone......LOL
