Title: If It Ain't Ripped Broke or Tore!
Post by Redneck on Dec 1st, 2004, 7:40pm
Ever notice that sometimes life sucks?
Thanksgiving was nice. Great food, good bit of family there. Only problem was my mother didn't feel well.(she's 83 btw). She had been to the doctor the tuesday before and was diagnosed with bursitis (note-I ain't gonna look up the correct spellings, so deal with it).
Friday night i got hit like hell, ran out of 02. Saturday at 11:10 she called me and thought she was dying. I drove 72 miles in 50 minutes. The Doc said it was still bursitis, gave her a type of lortab for elderly. Didnt help, sunday we called and they said take advil to help.Yeah, shuda known i was dealing with an idiot then, my mistake. Monday home health took her back to the ER (how often you ever gonna see home health load one of their paitents in their on car?) They sent her home again with instructions to keep taking the same pills.
Yesterday we got her to a real hospital ER. after many tests she went straight to surgery for gallbladder removal. The abdominal anuerysm will have to wait a bit. They had to stop the pain (2 shots of moraphine didnt stop it!)
However she is doing fairley well, out of ICU. I am still sucking the hell outta 02, and today my knee went south. What next? Can I go hide?

Not really, very glad things went as well as they did. I will be a bit scarce for a while.

In the famous words of Mr. Cliff "It cud be worser" :)

Lesson Learned (that I already knew) The rural hospital she used (i won't name it) is a damn good place to go die.

Will be back as i can,

Prayers for your mother.  I hope things improve for her soon.

As for you, the knee will be fine.  Just quit whining and take some advil.  ;;D

Sorry you're getting pounded so hard.  I hope things improve soon for you, too.

Gator

Lots of vibes and all my thoughts for you, your mom, and your family.

Charlie--- whose grandmother was 82 when her gallbladder was removed. She made it just fine.

Thanks to all of ya'll.

Just to update, she made it home thursday nite (think the hospital was glad  ;;D) she still has a lot of pain. The second problem will have to be dealt with later, although she says she will not go back for another surgery. Hardheaded old woman  :). Wonder where i got that from  [smiley=laugh.gif]. At least now we may be able to get her to real doctors instead of those "quacks".

Again, thanks to all.
