Title: So I goes ta see da boss
Post by don on Nov 30th, 2004, 10:42pm
The Corporate Director of Resident Services. A small demure woman with eyes of steel. Great personality once you get to know her. She says,

"You know this is a newly created position and I had to come up with a title for you. How does Manager of Resident Services  sound"?

I wait, I pause, I ponder. I ponder , pause and wait.

I look into the eyes of steel and respond,
"I was thinking more along the lines of Supreme Commander of Resident Discipline".

A long uneasy few moments of silence. I think I just fucked up. She cracks a toothy smile and begins to laugh hysterically. Says to me "Thats the funniest thing an employee has ever said to me with a straight face". Then she goes into her office.

WHAT THE FUCK! ..............I WAS SERIOUS!

Maybe she had met you before and when you used the words    "I was thinking" and inferring having some sort of command of discipline, in the same sentence... well, I'll shut up.

Hope I'm not going to have to pay her for this job.

I'm really a pretty gentle guy. I have to be or the blow up dolls whiz around the room and fly out the window.

Residents?  Like in hospital residents?  The few times I've been in a hospital I made sure to hide in the head, run down the hall or pretend I was asleep when residents were on the prowl.  I remember turning the room upside down looking for a "Do Not DISTURB" sign.

I'm reasonably certain that they were all well-intentioned folks, just that I don't like to think of myself as a test subject for rookies to experiment on.

Keep an eye on the linen closets.  I heard that's where they spend the overnight hours screwing the floor nurses.  Not that I care.  At least it keeps them out of the patients' rooms.  It's just that those are supposed to be clean linens...

[smiley=crackup.gif] That's a good one!  ;;D
Looking back, I should have asked for a title as the Supreme Commander of the Writer's Team at magazine project! Instead, I was just Chief Sub Editor....

Best wishes,

Oh MY!  Like in "housing projects"? You mean you're overseeing wasted tax dollars in action?

I've got a story... I have a friend that owns a modest sized construction company.  He once won a bid to construct single family housing on an Indian reservation.  They built around 50 very basic homes and had a builders obligation for guaranteeing that everything was in working order for 2 years from the date the product was delivered.  About 2 months in he was called back on a warranty claim - all of the residences were damaged because the stoves were not working.  He goes to check on the state of the homes and discovers that the ranges were indeed not in working order, AND the homes were all blackened on the inside from smoke damage.  They were all filthy too. There was a catch.  See, the occupants were not using these ranges as the manufacturers had intended.  Rather than simply turning the ranges on these characters stacked wood on them and lit it on fire to cook their food.  He did the repairs, on the State's dime, as he managed to convince the govt the warrany wasn't in force.  Who knows what they look like now....

Not neccesarily. Some are government funded, some private developments, some very high end condos.

So I deal with lease violations from selling crack out of a unit to continually parking the Mercedes in front of the wrong unit.

It's simple. I just wait for the Mercedes owner to visit the crack house and kill two birds with one stone.

Don, that doesn't sound too bad then.

Did you inform this steely eyed broad that along with the new title you also expect a corner office, a company car, gas card, expense account and a 40% bump in pay?  C'mon, you have her eating out of the palms of your hands man!!!  And don't give in to her sexual demands until it suits YOU.  Just lead her along, you know, suggesting that she'll get more pleasure than she ever dreamed of if she's patient.  Inform her that she can expect to be reduced to a limp puddle of guts begging for more after you're done with her.  Get her interested!!!!

There, you're golden.

See now, I thought this title kinda meant "other" kind of services.  Perhaps Don didn't fully explain the job description.  Manager of Resident (in house) Services for the boss?  :o    I'll just go along with the Mercedes and crack house thing.

Quote:
A small demure woman with eyes of steel.
The corporate newsletter reports in "other promotional facts" this week:   The newly formed position entitled, Manager of Resident Services was granted to Don this week.  Don's boss renames her position: Supreme Commander of Resident Discipline.  The salary designation of recently appointed Manager of Resident Services, will be commensurate with dutiful submission and performance of subservient obedience as evaluated by his boss, who newly named her position as his superior, Supreme Commander of Resident Discipline.  Don's new boss has stated, "My former title, Corporate Director of Resident Services didn't adequately define the new "structure" of hierarchy that has just been established with Don's placement.  After following up on his references from the bathhouse, I knew his "experience" he stated was not a fabrication.  His deployment to a status tethered beneath me will be just a small adjustment from the challenging encounters he has taken on behind him in the past."
Asked for comment, Don seemed stunned at the sudden recognition for his long years of "service".

Congrats Don!
