How long can or 'should' you keep can'd food stuff ? We had fried rice with CAN'D FLAVORED oriental veggtebles over top for dinner tonight. Flopped anuouther one Pam [smiley=hurl.gif]

Yeah Brad has a date on him.......oh you ment the can. Didn't notice one......have had a few can'd flavor'd dishes lately and it is GAG ME GROSS. Even some newer stuff tasted lousey like that. This can'd crap is prolly got some years on it......but thought it'd be ok ? Bad can cook Pam

I have some Kroger tomato sauce that I bought early this year that says on the bottom:

Best by Dec. 31, 2006 or 2008, can't make it out.

I hope to cook again by then.

Of course that could just be a way of saying to buy more if you haven't used it by then. Imitrex has an expiration date but... yeah sure.

Could be that "flavoring" part that doesn't hold up well.

Yeah that's jus it Kevin I can't make out dates on most of the stuff........maybe it said it expired in 1950 or sumthin and WE will soon be gettin VERY VERY sick ?? I'll check outside and make sure the outside cats aren't belly up cuz they got most of it. If so 911 mite be in order. Feed a man kill a cat Pam

Aren't can'd things supposed to last indefinetly unless open'd ? NOT that I want to eat OLD stuff......I jus tossed out some older cann'd things when I redid the cupboards....but this brand never changes it's can design so it looks the same as the newer ones.

Edit.....I spelled 'cann'd' wrong....oh my the poison effect must be settin in ech ? :P :P :P

Just give up on cooking and order in! That'd be a ton easier and then if you got food poisoning, there'd be somebody to sue! Works for me!

Oh so were all 'cans'......ok so what causes the bad taste ? Dam still gaggin over my can-ala-cart dinner. What should I do with the dead cats on the front porch ? Well.......I do like chinese......ala-kitty Pam

We live to far out in the boonies for orderin in or out or whatever ya call it......'someone' has to go get it.

Pam - that's why God invented men. She figured we would need someone to go pick up the take out order. Oh and there always useful for vehicle maintenance and lawn care too!

I have a can of Snows Clam Chowder I've had since 1994. Not sure why I keep taking it with me.

Even canned food can go bad... but a bad taste isn't always because of that. If you're reading this now you do not have botulism :)... and don't assume because you just bought it that it hasn't expired. I just bought a can of crushed tomatoes last month and noticed that they expired in 5/2002...

I have a can of beef stew from 1994 in my cupboard. I just found it the other day. I'm planning on the direct route. Do not pass go, do not collect 200 diseases.

Still, the can hasn't bulged yet. Hard to tell.... :o ;;D
