Purgatory House

"Wow man! Great movie! What was it called?"

"Your life."

"But I don't understand, I..."

"Shut your mouth!"

"Look, this has been nice, but my alarm clock is
gettin' ready to scream bloody murder. I gotta go to work, gas up the car, buy a card for..."

The angel(?) spun around, slamming me into the wall. His eyes spat blue fire in the weird twilight.

"You're dead, ass-hole! Get it?! Game over!"

Well, it's sort of a comical piece that pokes fun at people who are so self-absorbed and full of their own busy-ness, that they don't even have time for their own deaths. I began thinking what it would be like to die and not even be aware that one had died, and what it would take to wake up to the fact -- how surprised, shocked, and how unexpected... LOL

P.S. I'll post something less grim, a little later. :)

When I saw the title I thought- Oh Frank must be writing about my childhood home. Then I realized THAT would have been titled HELL HOUSE. ;;D
It's funny though- I've had dreams where I was rushing around trying to get everybody up and ready to go to school, but they were ignoring me (as usual?) only to have an angel tell me that I wa dead.

I came into work yesterday morning greeted by strange looks. Apparently there was an obit in the paper of someone with my name. I said well does that mean I get some bereavement days then? Who knew, I woke up dead!

There was a guy named Frank Weeden who apparently committed suicide while at university, and a friend of his had posted a tribute to him. A friend of mine sent me the link and it raised the hair on my neck... Phew! Strange!
