Title: Another story about Chris
Post by helpless23 on Nov 14th, 2004, 1:08pm
Well, today is his birthday. He would have been 20 years old.

I picked up the axe (guitar) this morning for a little while.  It's funny, last weekend we went through home movies that we had.

One that stood out this morning was the time when we decided to ALL play and film it.

Chris was a whiz with the notes, but not so good at the chords. hehe So, we decided to play a favorite of ours "Mr. Jones".  And Chris couldn't remember the chords and didn't know what all of them were.

So on the video tape, you can see Chris sitting right next to me, looking at me to tell him what the next chord was. It was really cute at the time.  I sat there like a mom trying to teach a child learning to spell his/her first name, or say the alphabet.  He did really well though. And on the chords that he didn't know, at the end of the song, he just started going off on a tangent playing all kinds of notes and riffs to add his own little touch to it.

Really cute.

I try to play every day for him.  I know he's listening - and I even think that he's contrubiting to my skills! I've gotten a lot better, and I've even learned one of his favorite songs from  his favorite bands; The Disco Biscuits. Some jam band.

So - that's it.

Toni
