Title: MRI shows "subcortical abnormalities"
Post by 3dogmom on Nov 14th, 2004, 1:07pm
Just had my MRI and supposedly it says (haven't seen the report myself) I have "subcortical abnormalities".  I've been trying to search for what these could be and am freaking myself out.  I have a full neuro workup next week, hope whatever it is isn't time sensitive.
Anyone else ever been told this?  Any good resources where I can get real information?
Sue

1 sense of subcortical

Sense 1
subcortical -- (of or relating to or being or involving nerve centers below the cerebral cortex)
Pertains to noun cortex (Sense 1)
=>cerebral cortex, cerebral mantle, pallium, cortex -- (the layer of unmyelinated neurons (the gray matter) forming the cortex of the cerebrum)
=> neural structure -- (a structure that is part of the nervous system
