Title: Saying Hello!
Post by medic1852 on Nov 10th, 2004, 9:07pm
I have a portable O2 tank under the bed that I keep full. I have tried Non-rebreather, simple mask, venturi mask and nasal canula. O2 helps a little then later I get one even worse and feel like I am being punnished for trying to stop the pain. I hate the way it feels, right now I am sitting in the shadows knowing that soon I will be getting one that will rock my world tonight. My right eye is throbbing as I type. By the way I stated that I work emergency medicine,, I am a paramedic for a local ambulance service and I work 24 hour shifts and am allowed to sleep since we work the 24 and it is always scary that some night I will be on duty and get woke by the beast to take him danceing and I will get an ambulance run. Which is great cause the lights and siren seem to excite my little buddy. Cant wait till my season has passed.

Welcome to the board.  There is a wealth of information here.  I think its great that you work for an ambulance company because maybe you will be able to spot and save other CHers.  Ch is usually not treated well in Emergency situations.Be sure to tell all your friends and don't be afraid for them to see you have an attack. Just have an abortive on board.  Everyone should be educated on Clusters.  When we went to the convention in NY the doc there told us all that to be a Neurologist you only cover 5 hours of Headache classes and like about an hour of that is about Cluster.  It blows my mind.  No wonder so many doctors don't know about Cluster. So welcome aboard.  Nice to have a health professional in the family.   love to you Ree
