Title: Re: Stupid Jeeper Of The Day Post by Racer1_NC on Nov 10th, 2004, 10:34am You'd be suprised how many times that happens on the Outer Banks of NC. Most of the time they are brand new vehicles too...... |

Title: Re: Stupid Jeeper Of The Day Post by taraann on Nov 10th, 2004, 10:50am I forgot I was d/l that until I hear my husband saying "Going going GONE!" LOL oh that poor guy (wasn't you was it?) he seemed ready to go with the jeep! |

Title: Re: Stupid Jeeper Of The Day Post by Jeepgun on Nov 10th, 2004, 11:00am LOL! No, that's not me! Believe me, I wouldn't have gotten in that situation to begin with, and if I had, I would have bailed a long time ago! LOL! Here's mine: http://www.jeepaholics.com/support/files/Jeepgun/20040324060526_FlexSig.jpg http://www.jeepaholics.com/support/files/Jeepgun/20040128184258_Winch2.jpeg |

Title: Re: Stupid Jeeper Of The Day Post by taraann on Nov 10th, 2004, 12:28pm Nice! I have always wanted 2 vehicles. One being a Jeep Wrangler that I can put HUGE tires and lift kit on. The other being a 70's - early 80's model standard transmission TransAM. *sigh* Maybe someday, prolly when I'm 80! Stuck being a minivan driver for awhile! |
||
Title: Re: Stupid Jeeper Of The Day Post by Jeepgun on Nov 10th, 2004, 12:36pm Right now, I only have a 2" lift on it, with 32" tires, but I'm saving up for a 4" lift kit, slip-yoke eliminator, long arm kit, high clearance skid plate for the transmission, and 33" tires. I'd also like to do an engine swap and drop a V-8 in it, and get front and rear air lockers. For now, it's good enough, I guess. Here's another photo of it in action: http://www.jeepaholics.com/support/files/Jeepgun/20040324060942_RockSig.jpg http://www.jeepaholics.com/support/files/Jeepgun/20040316144245_Tellico1.jpg |

Air lockers? What are you? A 15 year old girl? Come on!! ;) If you want lockers go with mechanical lockers. And if you want OBA, get a CO2 tank. Better yet, just weld up your rear diff and put in a Detroit on the front... Hirvimaki-Isi PS: Really nice looking TJ you got there, Frank. I'll have to find some action shots of Baby Red (our TJ)... Thanx for sharing! |

Title: Re: Stupid Jeeper Of The Day Post by Jeepgun on Nov 10th, 2004, 1:05pm Well, I was looking at OX lockers, which are purely mechanical. I would go with Detroits, but this is also my daily driver, so I'm a little hesitant to go the Lincoln Locker route.... And yeah, for OBA, a CO2 tank is definitely the way to go. Looking forward to the action shots, Hirv! |

Title: Re: Stupid Jeeper Of The Day Post by Charlie on Nov 10th, 2004, 5:55pm Thanks Frank. Love it. The sea has its own way; every time. I can imagine the audio on this one. :o Charlie |

The guy that owns OX Lockers was running Easter Jeep Safari in Moab in 2003 (we missed this year's because of the pregnancy)... Neat guy. He had his two kids with him... Nifty car seats. They (the kids) slept the entire trail up to Top of the World! [smiley=laugh.gif] I hope Kaisa-Tinúviel takes to 4-wheeling as well as they did... When I'm looking through my pictures for some shots of Baby Red I'll see if I can find a few of the OX Locker Jeep with the kids. Hirvimaki-Isi PS: Any chance you can be talked into Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Frank? |

Look at PowerTrax. I love my PT. Works like a locker when it needs to, slips like an open when it has to. Nothing better. Have to get some pix on my web page and get them posted. I'm running an XJ. 3" lift, 30" BS M/T's, Master Craft Rubicon Seats, Skid Row skids transfer and gas tank, C-Rok steering box braces, JKS Quick Discos, RE SYE and High Angle Driveline DS. Go anywhere, do anything.... T |

Title: Re: Stupid Jeeper Of The Day Post by Jeepgun on Nov 12th, 2004, 12:38pm Skid Row makes great skids. I have their lower control arm skid plates, engine/oil pan skid plate, and gas tank skid plate. I also have a Big Daddy Offroad tierod. (That thing is 10 lbs!) plus Warn differential skid plates. If I had it to do over again, I would probably go with Kilby skid plate for the gas tank... How do you like your Mastercraft seats? I need to get something that will accomodate some kind of harness, but that also maintains the fold & tumble characteristics of the stock seats.... |

Title: Re: Stupid Jeeper Of The Day Post by ExplodingEyeBall on Nov 12th, 2004, 12:42pm Frank, Have you been pampering that thing??? It's to clean. Take it out and get it dirty. A good Jeep will go bad on you if it deosn't get the mud treatment often enough. |
||
Title: Re: Stupid Jeeper Of The Day Post by Jeepgun on Nov 12th, 2004, 12:48pm Right now, it's PLASTERED with mud! LOL! We've had a lot of rain lately, and a couple of nights ago, she told me that she needed a mud bath to maintain her youthful good looks, so into the sludge we went! LOL! [smiley=laugh.gif] I also got in trouble with the police, the other night. There's a parking lot to the Staples that used to be here, and I was driving over the parking blocks, just bouncing around and having a good ol' time. A cop flashes his lights at me, and walks up: "Nice Jeep. You havin' a good time?" I said, "Well.... yes..." He replied, "Good. Now get your ass outta' here, before I change my mind and decide to write you a ticket!" "YESSIR!!" [smiley=laugh.gif] |

Title: Re: Stupid Jeeper Of The Day Post by Tom K on Nov 12th, 2004, 1:20pm The Master Craft Rubicons don't fold, they are fixed backs. Would work for your fronts. The back seat I have seen from them is a fixed back, too. They may have added one in the last few months...I haven't been to their web site in some time. I love my MC Rubis. They are the most comfortable seats I've had since I got rid of my 528i. The ride is "smoothed" out because they are a full suspension seat. http://home.comcast.net/~eismann/ has some pix of my seats. T |

Title: Re: Stupid Jeeper Of The Day Post by Jeepgun on Nov 12th, 2004, 1:26pm Nice.... :) I still don't know why Chrysler/Jeep insists on putting crappy, uncomfortable seats in Jeeps. LOL Jeez.... Actually, I'm more concerned with getting the rest of my rollcage installed and getting some seats that will support a full harness. Rockcrawling with only a lap/shoulder belt is just a little scary, sometimes! |
||
Title: Re: Stupid Jeeper Of The Day Post by Tom K on Nov 12th, 2004, 1:36pm Yeah, tell me about it. I haven't done the full interior cage, yet. Actually, thinking about going exo cage first.... www.c-rok.com. Met Greg from C-Rok. His XJ is tight!! Maybe someday, when mine growes up, it will be like his! ;;D T |

Title: Re: Stupid Jeeper Of The Day Post by Jeepgun on Nov 12th, 2004, 1:38pm http://www.rockhard4x4parts.com/ This is where I'm getting my cage. I already have the cross-member for the rear "sportsbars." Just savin' my pennies, right now... :) |

Title: Re: Stupid Jeeper Of The Day Post by Tom K on Nov 12th, 2004, 1:42pm Nice...have to post some pix when you are done. T |
