Title: I been keeping up with everyone!
Post by EBaby on Nov 7th, 2004, 6:46pm
I been on the go, but keeping up as best I can with everyone. Happy Birthday Dan, sorry I missed it. Carl days will get better. Linda miss ya, hope things are better.
Mel, your baby is beauthiful. Ree those hollenween picture are great. I keep praying for your boys (men) !
Jackie and Jean I think of you two everyday. Jonny the baby pictures were great. Barbara D hope all is well with you.
Michelle, sure miss talking top you but I keep up with all the good things you are doing on HSG. Svenn miss talking to you also.  Margi, Carol miss you two ! Tracy and Cat and Happy I am keeping up with ya'll also, through the grape vine :-)!

My Dad is out of the Hospital but they had to put a feeding tube in him. He is home now. He has to be fed every two hours so he needs round the clock care. It takes us all to see he gets it.

Tonight I am fighting depression from it all. Each year I buy my dad cookies and peanuts for Christmas ! He loves it. This year what can I get him? Clths ? no he has enough. Books? no he can't see. I can not see having christmas and him not having something to open. What can I get him? Any idears?

I am not sure when I can post again  with the holidays and my dad being as he is. Know I am thinking about you all , that ya'll are in my prayers.

Hugs
Elaine

Dear Ms. Lainey,

You've given so much of yourself, the others have needed so much, and you've been there for all of it. Time out for yourself. Without you, the rest won't work.......and luckily, we have a new contestant that's right up your alley. It's time for you to go Krissmus shopping at Passion Parties by Katie (http://www.katiespassion.com/), and send us the bill.

Your health is everything, Lainey.......
RJ

Slippers, tunes and tapes, Oh My!

Edited for OZ effect.

WB Elaine -  I will keep you and your Dad in my prayers. Have you considered some gift certificates for in-home massage? Coupled with some of his favorite music it could be a very pleasant and relaxing experience.

Try Alleyops idea and buy your pa a headset.
If he is deaf he MAYBE can feel the vibes from the music on the skin and have some joy that way.

Missing talking to you to E.Kind of quiet without you around holding the weels   :)

Sending vibes and hope for some fine days to you and your family

Elaine...Years ago(in my past life)..I was a florist. I had a gentleman who came to me each and every holiday, and as the seasons would change. he always had the same request...
He had a mother who was deaf, blind and recently paralyzed. In other words, her sense of smell was really all she had left. Each arrangement I made for this man was all about the fragrance...the season it evoked, the memories it brought back.
I would make up a Christmas "tree"..small enough to sit beside him, loaded with incense cedar, peppermint carnations, cinnamon.....the colors didnt matter, but the frangrance filled the room with Christmas.
This wonderful gentleman would pick up his arrangement, and spend a day with mom at least twice a month. Always bringing her something to depict the wonders of the current season.
I'd love to make something special for your dad.....alas, I am too far away.
You are a truly loving, caring daughter... please, dont agonize over this.....being YOU..and being his daughter who loves him, my guess is, that's quite enough for him.
Cathi

Hey Elaine... glad to see you... Thanks for the thoughts and prayers I can feel them all the while... I am sorry about your Daddy.  Man, it is just amazing that we are all going through these trying times with our parents. I visit mine so often because I know there will be a time whsn I don't have them anymore... Dave's mom has Alzheimers and its so sad to see him go through the trials of that also.  So we are right there with you girl.  You need to take care of YOU though.  You are always so worried about everyone that you barely take time for you... Do something nice for yourself.  Take a bath in that great tub in that new house and have a glass of wine.  I am sure to come to the next convention... (even if by myself) We need some girl time to vent and b*tch about life........ God bless you honey... I love you   Reehttp://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b3cc22b3127cce831ff066834f0000001610

Thanks everyone ! Those are some great ideas  :)
I knew you could help me out with this.
I do have good to report Dad being ill broke my cluster cycle .
Jean said stress is the cause.

LMAO Happy, I have the best one the wribbit ,  I need battries  ;)

You guys email I do get on line at night when I can.  Its never for long but long enough to check on you all. It never long enough to post but long enough to read and answer email!

Hopefully in a couple of weeks, Dad will be use to all this and he can take more food at a time and we will beable to go every 4 hours instead of two.  He got a hold of some chewing gum this week end. Mom has had to hid all food.
They do let him have Totise Roll Pops if they are froze and we take them away from him before he gets to the totise roll. At least he has something to taste. I feel so bad for him, he does not seem to mind. He likes for me to bring JD my grandson. He watches cartoons with him and they talk to each other. He will get up and out of bed for JD  :)

Thanks again everyone.
