Title: Oxygen users ... question
Post by totka2 on Nov 7th, 2004, 1:27am
I'd like to make a tiny survey to argue for O2 because the O2-therapy is not supported by the National Health Service here yet. Our National Headache Society declared (in the official CH Treatment Protocol) that "... O2 is available only in big cylinder and it's portable with difficulties ..."  [smiley=huh.gif]

My questions:

How many O2-cylinders and regulators do you have - and where (eg. at home, in the car, int he office etc.)?
What does it cost (approx.): treat a single attack with O2/Trex.

Thanks for participation,
Steve

Steve

I have one in the office, home, and my truck.

The one in my truck is no bigger than a coffee thermos so it can easily be stored out of the way until needed.

I've got concentrators here at the house, a medium tank at the office and a small tank in the Jeep - all of them perscribed by my doctor. The one in the Jeep is unobtrusive only because of all the other tanks and things that are in there. Hopefully I'll never get the O2 tank confused with the CO2 tank!

Somebody told me that it's possible to buy tiny ones which you actually CAN drag around with you... That's what I want. The next time I go to see a neuro I'll demand for oxygen!!!

Have a large one in the corner of my bedroom and 2 small portable ones that can go with me to work and when I travel.  The small one even has the dolly with wheels on it so easy to take with me.  It costs me $50 a month for my dme copay, but I would pay 100x that for the relief it gives me!

I don't own any.  When I'm in cluster my insurance provides the cylinders and regulator.  I get the masks from a local medical supply house.  Last cluster I had 5 tanks, "E" I think, about 4" in diameter and 2-3' long.  There is an O2 survey on the OUCH web site with lots of responses on O2 effectivness.
