Title: Redskins pick President. The winner is... Post by Jimmy_B on Nov 1st, 2004, 7:12am http://www.snopes.com/sports/football/election.asp According to snopes.com...the Washington Redskins' games have correctly picked the winner of the last 15 Presidential elections. In the last skins' game (at home)...if the Redskins lose the incumbent loses the election & if the Redskins win, the incumbent wins the election. Packers - 28 Redskins - 14 the winner is Kerry Jimmy PS all Bush Supporters...Don't shoot the Messenger ;;D |

Title: Re: Redskins pick President. The winner is... Post by karma on Nov 1st, 2004, 7:26am In the game the skins scored the go ahead TD with just over two minutes to win But then it was called back for "illegal procedure" Is this a sign of things to come? |

Title: Re: Redskins pick President. The winner is... Post by Jeepgun on Nov 1st, 2004, 11:04am I'm just looking forward to when we can all just be Americans, without all of the political brick-hurling and the constant meanness displayed by adherents to both political parties. This fuckin' sucks..... I wish I weren't even alive... :( |

BTW - I've visited that link every day for the past month. It changes by at least 50 votes every day and it's not the first time it's shown Kerry leading in past few weeks. Thye'll have new surveys tomorrow morning and the numbers will be completely different. |

Title: Re: Redskins pick President. The winner is... Post by floridian on Nov 1st, 2004, 12:39pm http://home.comcast.net/~tmp123/710.jpg OK, its not a real indicator - more like a coincidence that people will keep talking about until the law of averages catches up. You got us ;) Yeah, the electoral vote site has limits, but it is a real world attempt to measure what people are thinking. As a rule, though, the undecideds break away from the incumbent. Cell phones mean that the youth and immigrant demographics are undersampled, and both favor Kerry. On election eve 2000, most polls underpredicted Gore by 4%. http://www.libertypost.org/cgi-bin/readart.cgi?ArtNum=72268 Just have to wait and see. |

Title: Re: Redskins pick President. The winner is... Post by Jeepgun on Nov 1st, 2004, 3:07pm Thanks, Joe. I'm just so tired of seeing people so polarized... Every list that I'm on, every person in my community, every news article I read... I'm just really tired of it all... On top of that, as if having cluster headaches isn't bad enough, I've been having nightmares lately, and I've been vascillating between rage and depression a lot. Each day, I just keep telling myself, "This too shall pass," and every night, I'm running old missions again in my dreams. Right now, the only things that keep me tethered to this life are my wife and daughter. It's like dangling over a 1,000' precipice, hanging onto a piece of fishing line by my fingernails. |

That is a pretty strong tether, Hun. And we are here as well to make sure that you are still here. As far as the dreams go, try and disassociate yourself from them and see them from a 3rd person aspect. Then let them do thier thing see what it is that you are trying to be shown. -Tia |

Title: Re: Redskins pick President. The winner is... Post by Jeepgun on Nov 1st, 2004, 3:30pm Thanks, Floridian. Meditation/contemplation have been a part of my daily life for the past seventeen years. I'm okay during the day, but when the nightmares come, I usually end up staying awake for the rest of the night. This, in turn, makes me feel like crap, and makes me a little more vulnerable to stuff that's happening... Thanks for the suggestion, Tiannia. These aren't just dreams, though. They're more like flashbacks... I'm thinking of calling the VA and seeing if they can recommend a counselor or something... |

It's cable tv that has done this. I think it's like all those California murder trials that no one really cares about. The corporations that own these stations know how to make a buck. They do a good job of focusing on crap that has little significance but lets us to avoid reality unless it's a police chase. Politics on Fox and the like is like a bad reality show. Republicans used to have Eisenhowers and Democrats had Kennedys....I'm not much into the good old days but in politics, I get nostalgiac Charlie |
