Title: Diamond Headache Clinic
Post by don on Oct 31st, 2004, 9:15pm
Once and for all.................

Can anyone tell me they haven't been financially fleeced by this place?

Can anyone tell me they haven't recieved ineffective treatment for CH?

Can anybody tell me they have recieved effective long lasting relief from any of the Diamond treatments?

Diamond Headache Clinic reminds me of a yard sale selling  knock off merchandise for big dollars.

For once in my pagen life, I'm with you all the way, Donnie. A bud of mine from college days did 6 inpatient Diamond treatments for Daily Chronic Headache. His pill box made my eyes light up like a kid in a candy shop. Even with insurance, his out of pocket was over $100K.

He finally got relief from a Neuro in Charleston, SC, that drained some kind of thecal sacs in his spine.....relieved the cranial fluid pressure.......DCH were killed dead in their tracks. Total bill.......NADA........covered by insurance, with 2 quick outpatient procedures.

It's all in the wrists,
RJ

out of pocket $100,000!  What do you do when you get that kind of bill?  Just say 'whatever', can't get blood from a stone.   You would have to be independently wealthy to pay that.

Do you know "Diamond Headache Clinic" is an abridgement?

Full name is: If You Have Enough Diamond We Cure You Of Headache In This Clinic.

There was another lady at the clinic who was diagnosed with clusters. She said the Histamine Drip helped her everytime. It stopped her (epesodic) cycles. She had been going there at the beginning of every cycle for years.

As for me ... only a little more than a weeks worth of PF time.

Ahhhh, yes....good ole Diamond  >:(

I would probably feel differently had the "treatment" worked.....even for a few weeks.

Did we feel fleeced...Yep....to the tune of almost $26,000.00 (and that was 12 years ago).

Oh...check out their website.  Can you find anything about clusters on it....any mention of them?  Hmmmmm...I never could either.

;;DDon,
Years ago (Like 26) My Doctor consulted with Seymore Sr. But he passed on and his son took over the business,  Not one of his suggestions helped with the exception of the Verapamil for a short time.
My VA doctor was trying to get the VA to pay for a trip there for me, no success there because of the cost factor. but they were the only real source of any knowledge back then, I guess they still charge an arm and a leg, only if they took half of a head instead!

My understanding is Seymour Sr. was a legitimate pioneer in the area of headache study.

His offspring are legitimate pioneers of selling treatments on EBay and roadshows.

I went there, never had the histimine drip.   They did make me wait for over an hour to see someone.  Everytime I called to ask a question they charged me $25 - I thought that was ridiculous.  One night I was having a K-10 and my husband paged my doctor - she was not very nice.  You would think since they are a headache clinic they would understand the pain of clusters.  I think my initial visit cost over $500, thank goodness my insurance paid for most of it.

[smiley=huh.gif]I am not qualified to really make this statement, but IMHO anyone that the Histamine drip treatment worked for probibly has sinus headaches or allergies or hay Fever.
you can get the same increased histamine affect from drinking a lot of beer, as the way beer is brewed using Hops is what causes an increase of Histamineace in the first place, I can't take any antihistamines to this day because they have the same affect as Drinking Beer or the Histamine Drip, Major Headache every time, just the 3hours for 3 days with the drip treatment was like having a kip 8 non stop for 3-4 hours each time we tried it!
Actually it was Seymore Sr and Nenan Mathews that started using Verapamil as a preventitative!  Pappy
