Title: Re: Of Computers Post by floridian on Oct 27th, 2004, 11:57am Not sure, but have you checked the browser settings? If it is only particular web pages, they might require cookies or pop-ups to be enabled. Or they might not like it if you are hidden behind a proxy. |

Title: Re: Of Computers Post by Rock_Lobster on Oct 27th, 2004, 12:02pm Check your hosts file... C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts Some malware tweaks it, but usually to route you to their own preferred site. |

Title: Re: Of Computers Post by Ronny on Oct 27th, 2004, 12:10pm Did this happen right after installing SP2? If so, uninstall any firewalls, disable the router firewall if you can and try again. I had several friends who couldnt get to the internet (in one case: email worked) after installing SP2. Hope this helps. Ronny. |

Title: Re: Of Computers Post by TomM on Oct 27th, 2004, 12:45pm Try this: Yahoo may be set up as an exception in the Firewall. Right-click on My Network Places, choose Properties. Right-click on Local Area Connection, choose Properties. Click on the Advanced tab. Press the Settings button. Click on the Exceptions tab. Press the Add Program button. Select Yahoo. TomM |
