Title: Afgan Eagle Post by Longhaired Redneck on Oct 26th, 2004, 7:04pm This was sent to me by a friend of mine. The crew of an Mi-24 Helicopter crew in Afghanistan painted their bird. Bet it scares the hell outta some folks ;;D (will only put one of the three pics up, to much for some peoples slow dial up, like mine. It was used extensively by the Soviets in Afghanistan but this paint-job does not appear to be for combat. Probably painted this way for display or promotional purposes. It is a Russian Hind, that was used in afghanistan, but by the Russians. Quote from site "This very special Mi-24 helicopter was painted by the Hungarian Air Force. Take a good look at the triangle chevron on the tail of the Mi-24 above the 117 that is the Hungarian Air Force insignia. It has been around Europe at air shows from 2000 to present.
