For those of you that have not been to the OUCH site for a bit, I am copying my post from there to here:

For the upcoming election, we are accepting nominations for those interested in filling the following positions:

Vice President
Treasurer
Recording Secretary
One BoD Position

Sorry for the lateness of this announcement, but we do need to fill the above positions by member's election.

If you are nominating someone, other than yourself, that person has to have agreed to run for the position.

Let's get some real participation here and hopefully give the membership more than one choice for each position.  Those of you that have wanted to help, here is your chance.  Step up to the plate and run for office.

Ronny, thank you so much for your interest...no really!!!!!

You will be contacted shortly.   What are your talents, interests, etc .?????

How can we put you in a position you will fit into?
How can we put you in a position you will like ?
How can we put you to use in a part of this ORG.  that you will feel comfortable in?

We cannot put you into computer geek-ness if you don't like computers...but maybe you are into printing, or have sort of entry into Ins. Co's...or know someone in the pharmacy areas...or maybe you just have some great ideas we can incorporate in  a general sense.

We, so much want to hear from you!!!!!!!!!!!

Cat, I do not know since we have only had 1 person willing to put their name in for a vacant position.  I wish that there were others also willing to volunteer, but it looks like no one else is willing to.

I do want to add that we have had many people volunteer for other areas in OUCH though.  I want to thank them ever so much for their willingness to contribute!

These Officer/BoD positions are very important though.  The Treasurer position needs to be filled as well as my own position of Recording Secretary.  There is also a BoD position up for re/election (ClusterChuck's spot).  Please anyone, if you want to help out others with CH, OUCH is a very good way to begin!

I'd just like to add to what Mel said.  Having served OUCH for nearly 2 years, it is a very rewarding experience.  I was able to be involved first hand in a great deal of 'grass roots' projects.  To be able to interact with doctors and educators and have them respect you as having as much knowledge, and in several cases, more knowledge (their terms not mine) than they in the area of clusters is a wonderful feeling.

If you think you can't make a difference, you are wrong.  Working with OUCH, or any of the non profit organizations makes a HUGE difference in many areas.

Yes it's hard work, but it's some of the most rewarding work you can do.  Stand up and fight for education and the path to research and an eventual 90% treatment if not a cure.  

Once I finish school, I may have to come back and start stirring the pot again ;)  2 classes almost done, only 8 more to go :)

The top of this post states the VP position is open as well.

I assume that position has been filled now by Mel's post not listing the VP position?

The VP position is still vacant.  It was not listed due to the spot not being up for election due to it was a 2 yr. term (which we're in the middle of right now).  It is definately another agenda item that will, and needs, to be dealt with.

Where ever you all feel I would be most useful.  Seems there is little responce for these positions, so you guys make the choice you feel is best.  If my resume would help I'll email it.....lol.

That reminds me of little jonny, while at the park with his dad noticed two dogs screwing by the play ground.  Jonny asked his dad what they were doing and dad responded with "They are making puppies".

Later that night jonny walked into his parents bed room while they were doin the wild thing, poked his dad on the ass and asked what they were doing.  Dad responded with "We're making a baby".  Jonny then replyed "Hey mom,  roll over, I'd rather have a puppy".
