You can't load a picture from your computer.  the pic has to be online somewhere, ie, www.wherethepicisposted.com/pic.jpg

Type in the full URL to the pic.  Voila! New avatar

Type in the full URL to the pic, highlight it and press the Image button above to put a pic in your post.

If you have some free space with your server, you might be able to store a few pictures there. Not many though. You have to use an address to move it around is all. I had some help from a geek friend. I buy a little extra space from them too for my ebay images.

I used one of these sites like they're talking about  when I first started though. It seemed fairly strainghtforward.
