Aiti (mommy) is doing great, Kaisa-Tinúviel is doing great, and Isi (daddy) is walking on the clouds! Kaisa-Tinúviel was 6 lbs., 9 oz. and measured 20 and 3/4 inches (tall and thin just like her parents). Eveliina was in labour just under two hours. And Kaisa-Tinúviel got a 10 on her Apgar Test. (For those who do not know what the heck that is, it is the assesment they give to babies when they are born (1-10) to gauge general health.) We are settled in at home and have made it through our first night here. It was not as difficult as I had imagined it would be. We all managed to get some sleep!! I've taken a ton of pictures and as soon as I get a chance I will post them somewhere and let you guys what the link is. Thank you all for all of your support, words of advice and encourage and the love and caring I... no, WE have always gotten from you. I'll keep you updated. For now I am going back to hold my baby girl... Hirvimaki PS: Yep, Jonny, I cut my hair. Don't worry, it grows fast. |

Leaving my beautiful, precious, magical daughter and her lovely mother at home this morning was very hard to do. The first week of being a daddy was just wonderful. (Happily we were blessed with a daughter who already wants to sleep through the night - of course she wants to be fed every three or so hours now, but she is not fussy and sleeps like an angel - so I am more rested than I thought I would be.)
