Title: OneEyeBlind needs some BIG hugs.... Post by Jackie on Oct 15th, 2004, 2:58pm Nancy lost her Dad today. He was not well and they all knew it was coming but that still doesn't make it easy. She's one tough lady and seems to be doing fine but I still think a bunch of big hugs would help her out. Nancy......I bet your Daddy went skidding in sideways, all worn out, declaring it 'one hell of a ride'. Big hugs and love coming your way, my friend. You know where I am. I made a big pot of chicken corn soup, we ordered pizza and just sat around the kitchen table eating & talking. Two of my brothers got in today, the other two are expected later tonight. The rest of my sisters will be here by tonight or tomorrow. Family is good. My brother from Norway is coming home, so that is a blessing. It will be good to see him and his family. The funeral won’t be until Friday, so we have the whole week to get ready to send the big guy off. We ordered 30 GREEN carnations so that each of his grankids/greatgrandkids could throw a flower to him. He was very proud of being Irish, the only other thing he was prouder of was his Yankees. So go Yanks. Don’t let the big guy down. Thanks for all the kind words. It helps. I guess I’ll go start cooking again. Macaroni & Cheese is on the menu for tonight. I love to cook when emotionally challenged. Must be a woman thing. We'll go over and spend time with family & tell stories. Love never does die. |

Sometimes we wish it would, ehh? :) That's the thing about love. It is so beaUtifully IMPERFECT. All we can do in the end is be grateful for all of it. The good and the bad. It's a gift that is always wrapped in brite paper, layers underneath we find out through time contain wrinkles we never counted on. Underneath the brite paper and the wrinkles is ..........what else. That love. It's what we come into the world with without ever having to work for and it's what we leave with - even if sometimes we did not always deserve it. It was hysterical. We were all yelling, bring one home for papa. Brought one of my sisters kids home with me. Her house is pretty full with guests already so he decided he'd come here. It was funny, cause on the way home, he was talking and said, "it's all ok, I love it when the whole family get's together. And I don't mind giving up my room. Heck, it's like I'm first draft pick. My room is neat and everyone always wants my bed". I'm giving that boy an extra hug tonight ! And the warm fuzzies continue to roll in. |
