First off let me apologize to any physicians on the board. This is not directed at any individual MD.

I am damn tired of this holier than thou attitude.

I am fucking paying you.

You will listen to me when i or a family member speaks.

You will not discount my opinion, information, research, or wishes for treatment. I am an adult.

I pay you well.

I can and will Fire your ass. As a service provider I can and will do that. I fire carpenters, plummers, suveyors, etc. Get used to it.

Thats enuff.

After me having to go thru 22 years of CH with this, now my daughter has the same crap with Endo. Treat me like this, but mess with my daughter and you better be looking to see if the end of your nose is in the same place.

Yep. Anyone in a service profession where I am the customer, is expected to, at the very least, have some common courtesy and basic competency. If they don't have that, they've lost a customer. If they make my daughter cry, I will make them cry.

I've never seen a physician here.
Maybe they're too embarassed.

In defense of SOME physicians -- there are some GOOD ones left out there. Mine is wonderful. BUT the first time I saw him - I INTERVIEWED him. We came to an understanding and have remained on that level thru a number of years.

They are "practicing" - maybe you should remind them of this. And NO they are not GOD! If they think they are - walk out and find another one.

When it comes to your kids -- no one should let a doc intimidate them - or anyone else for that matter. Find you a doc you can "communicate" with and one who will listen to YOU.

And don't pay them if they don't do anything. That really pisses them off. I usually write a letter telling them WHY I'm not paying them.

Very true, Barb. My GP and my daughter's pediatrician are two of the finest doctors I've ever known. Both are women, and both are so sharp, so compassionate, so kind, and really go the extra mile for their patients. I am so fortunate...
