Title: Re: Another Cure For CH Found!!! Post by Kevin_M on Oct 8th, 2004, 10:41am Hmm, no cure for quackery listed. I guess we'll just have to devise our own methods. [smiley=finger.gif] [smiley=moonwiggle.gif] [smiley=looser.gif] [smiley=hammer.gif] Kevin M |

Title: Re: Another Cure For CH Found!!! Post by john_d on Oct 8th, 2004, 10:47am We should have a Hall of Lame with a list of the websites trolls post here. They change there names, do hit-and-run postings and generally are hard to pin down, except of course the link to there website. Next time we see them post we just say, "Hey look! It's one of our Hall of Lamer's coming to pay a visit!" John D |

Title: irRe: Another Cure For CH Found!!! Post by Ruth on Oct 8th, 2004, 11:59am Pretty sad, the weridness that comes and goes, my Chiro told me there is no adjustment than can help Cluster Headaches, I new that already and I hadn't even asked him that question, I asked him if he new anything about CH's and he said, well I no there is no adjustment that will help, but I hear Imitrex works good. I had never heard of it but I got on the phone to my Doctor about it. Then I found this site and sure nuf, lots of people here say the same thing. I can say that my Chiro is one honest man and I wish all the quacks that visit this site would pandle their crap somewhere else. Words from a 35 year long survivor. Ruth |

Title: Re: Another Cure For CH Found!!! Post by Gator on Oct 8th, 2004, 1:46pm I figured this might interest you Charlie as she can cure Epilepsy/Seizure Disorders. Damn, and to think I suffered through carpal tunnel surgery with insufficient anesthesia when all I had to do was pop my neck. Gator |

Title: Re: Another Cure For CH Found!!! Post by Tom K on Oct 8th, 2004, 2:12pm I just heard one on the radio...www.power-in-motion.com They didn't come out and specifically say CH, but it was pretty well implied. T |

Title: Re: Another Cure For CH Found!!! Post by Callico_Kid on Oct 8th, 2004, 11:36pm I'm grateful for my chiro, because I can walk after a major accident 13 yrs ago. The insurance co wanted surgery because it was cheaper, but I would never have lifted 25 lbs again. I'm also grateful that he knows what he CAN to and what he CAN"T do, and doesn't even try to address my head. Wish there was something to be done about the quacks. |

Title: Re: Another Cure For CH Found!!! Post by chris on Oct 28th, 2004, 2:29am It's funny that i am reading about this because after suffering chronic ch's for 8 years I am currently seeing a chiro for neck probs. He thinks my headaches could be caused by pressure at the back of the neck,I must say that after seeing him for about a month I went 5days without any preventive meds. And no headaches. Before this I couldn't go more than 2 days. Maybe just by chance? I figure I'll go as long as my insurance w/ cover. Can't hurt and All it takes is one Quack to stumble upon a cure. If it cuts em by 1% I figure it was worth it. |

Title: Re: Another Cure For CH Found!!! Post by pubgirl on Oct 28th, 2004, 3:29am I think Chris makes a fair point (and Ruth's chiro sounds like a goodie) If only alternative therapists would educate themselves about our condition and what causes it , and then say that they MAY be able to provide some element of symptomatic relief, rather than CURE us, then they might have some credibility. There are enough genuine sufferers here that would support some therapies as being helpful in conjunction with standard treatments, even if only from a general health and wellbeing point of view. Title: Re: Another Cure For CH Found!!! Post by purpleydog on Oct 28th, 2004, 7:35am My chiro siad right up front there was nothing he could do for CH, and I didn't expect him to. Does wonders for my neck. Anyone who claims to be able to improve upon/ cure all these ailments should be held up to it. Prove it. |

Title: Re: Another Cure For CH Found!!! Post by Charlie on Oct 28th, 2004, 12:46pm It's great you've found some relief but Im with Ueli. Here's part of an artice from CSICOP, a Buffalo area (Amherst, NY) skeptical and quack watch group: Don't stick your neck out unless absolutely necessary: Some subluxation-based chiropractors, believe most ailments are related to misaligned neck vertebrae. Such specialists always adjust the neck. This can be dangerous, since excessive rotation of the head and upper cervical spine puts a strain on vertebral arteries which can result in vascular injury or stroke. There are limited cases when cervical spine manipulation can be beneficial-if head rotation during manipulation is less that 50 degrees and the patient has been screened for vascular problems and is not elderly or on blood thinners. Careful of these guys and tie a rubberband around your wallet. These geeks like to see you once a week so they can "adjust" the thickness of your billfold or purse. Charlie |

Title: Re: Another Cure For CH Found!!! Post by purpleydog on Oct 28th, 2004, 1:07pm I go see him about once every six weeks or so. The longer I go, the less I see him. He has definitely helped me. Not all are like that. |

Title: Re: Another Cure For CH Found!!! Post by Carl_D on Oct 28th, 2004, 6:10pm I have been there, done that. Got my neck adjusted from a misalignment and 2 deviations. Didn't stop the CH. In fact, one day when the Chiro cracked me, I went into a massive CH attack and had to be put in a room by myself until it ended and I was able to leave. All it did for me was teach me how to pop my neck properly. Only cure for CH is a 44 Magnum to the temple. Only drawback is it ends your life as well. Peace, and put the damn gun away already! Title: Re: Another Cure For CH Found!!! Post by sandie99 on Oct 29th, 2004, 3:23am Chee... so I should now book an appointment to see a chiropractor... ::) Why do I think that it takes more than "adjusting" my neck? And why the word "adjusting" makes me think few other words, such as 'don't think so'. They do say that indian headmassage cures migraines, too, but as I saw someone's head massaged, I thought, not my head. I can't stand shoulder massages, the only one who can touch my head is me (I'm tearing my hair out) and I am already doing enough of stuff to my neck (bodytonics), thank you very much.
