Title: Re: Spyware legislation Post by Opus on Oct 6th, 2004, 10:01pm You don't need a law to stop spyware, just 3 easy steps. 1. Don't run in root 2. Set you browser to not install any software. If it doesn't have that setting get a new browser. 3. Check the MD5sums off all software from an untrusted source ( bittorent warze ) and if it doesn't pass or you can't get the MD5 don't install unless it is sand boxed. There, no more spyware, except for what comes in windows drivers if you use them. Opus/Paul |
