Title: K...now what Post by Guido on Oct 5th, 2004, 11:34pm It seems Kaiser has this policy...one cannot get oxegen unless it is determined to actually work. on the surfice this seems like a reasonable policy. However, to determine if it works one must go to kaiser er or the clinic to the nurses station while having an attack. My problem is this...i live 50 miles from the nearest Kaiser er or clinic. There seems to be no exceptions on this policy. I am getting the Emitrex nasal spray, perhaps that will help...any input??? Guido |

Title: Re: K...now what Post by nani on Oct 5th, 2004, 11:59pm Maybe if you can predict about what time you'll get hit you can kinda camp out there. It beats tryin' to drive 50 miles during an attack... [smiley=huh.gif] |

Title: Re: K...now what Post by Mr. Happy on Oct 6th, 2004, 12:10am I pay $55/month setup fee, and $20/tank refill (any size)...out of pocket. Decided to go pay for the damned O2, and bugger the insurance hassles. It's supposed to have a 70% success rate, but I'm batting closer to 1,000. Get some today. Trex nasal is pretty cool stuff. too. Title: Re: K...now what Post by Charlie on Oct 6th, 2004, 12:16pm Welder's O2 is.......guess what? Oxygen that doesn't come in a pretty package but easier to obtain, I'm told. Start a thread and you'll get all the advice you'll need. We are a devious bunch. You might try informing these pinheads at Kaiser that we exist or print out some things. The worst thing than can happen is that they won't pay attention. It wouldn't surprise me that you may find some medical professional will have some experience with CH. Look into it and good luck. An other idea: Is there someone you know who is a member of AARP? This bunch may know how to get O2 as well as anybody. Charlie |

Title: Re: K...now what Post by Kirk on Oct 6th, 2004, 12:37pm Screw em. Go across the river to Hood River or Bonneville and get some welders O2 (no sales tax). Then ask jonny how to use it with a medical regulator. Cost a lot less than running all the way to Portland or Vancouver to talk to the idiots at Kaiser. You a veteran by any chance? Ofcourse I am not a doctor and this is only a SUGGESTION. YMMV |
