Title: Oxygen, does it work? Post by angusbeef on Oct 5th, 2004, 8:41am Hello people, Well here I am again, its been atleast a year since I had my CH's and they are now back once again to terrorize me... so far I have been getting 2-3 a day, some very severe some lasting only 15min, I am taking SUMA nasal inhalers, and they seem to work wonders for aborting them, on the odd occassion they dont and i suffer for long periods. I would like to know more about Oxygen treatment, never tried it, the SUMA nasal shots are costing my a small fortune with no health plan, I would like to try the Oxygen and wonder how effective it really is, also anyway to actually try it beforehand to see if it works. Thanks for any advice. Angus |

Title: Re: Oxygen, does it work? Post by thomas on Oct 5th, 2004, 8:48am Yes it works for most people. There is no way to try anything "beforehand", to see if it works, you need 12-15lpm with a non-rebreather mask to get the full effectiveness. |

Title: Re: Oxygen, does it work? Post by Rock_Lobster on Oct 5th, 2004, 11:14am I am in the kinda-works category. It will keep one at bay while I suck the o2, but as soon as I stop the hammer falls the rest of the way. My main use for it is to roadblock one until the Imitrex takes effect (3-5min). |

Title: Re: Oxygen, does it work? Post by AndreaD on Oct 5th, 2004, 2:20pm Hello! For my friend Zaira (CCH) it works (not often) and sometimes she doesn't use Imitrex. For my other friend Luciano (ECH), it doesn't work. Good Luck, Andrea |

Title: Re: Oxygen, does it work? Post by bobkip on Oct 5th, 2004, 3:15pm Works for me most of the time. Besides the above mentioned, timing is also important. You gotta start huffing O2 as soon as the veast starts. And if it hasn't aborted after 15 to 20 minutes you're probably wasting gas. Check with jonny if you need expert help for setting up welding O2 which is probably more available in the islands. Good luck. Kip |
