Title: Re: Car 41 Ready to Roll Post by Racer1_NC on Oct 3rd, 2004, 1:14pm Greetings.... Sometimes things just don't work out like you'd want them to. Yesterday was a good example of that. Fastest in practice on old tires.......middle of the pack on new ones. Best guess, a bad set of tires....and nothing we could do about it. Started 8th, was working slowly towards the front. On lap 77, while running inches behind the car in front of us, that car had a mechanical failure which sent it into the wall......our left front caught the rear of that car. Flat tire and bent suspension was the result. Tire we fixed, suspension damage we could not. Out at lap 79 for a 18th place finish. That pretty much puts us out of the championship this year. On a positive note, a fellow cluster headache sufferer came up and introduced himself. He didn't know about OUCH or this forum. Vig and I talked with him for a while and left him with one of Mast's OUCH pamplets. On to Concord Motorsports Park on Saturday. It's gotta get better.... Bill |
